  1. That would be pretty cool to see I guess just taking the rotor off a regular movement just wouldn't be the same
  2. I totally agree with you about the false satisfaction of a gen, afterall, it was trying a gen Submariner which made me think "That's not worth it, I'll buy a fake..." Personally, I don't think reps take any $$s away from the gen market, simply because someone who buys a rep (for whatever their reason) was not going to buy the gen (for whatever reason) so those $$s would never have gone to the gen manufacturer anyway, but I do think reps can contribute $$s to the gen market, if someone tries a rep, and then decides to get the gen They took it off you?
  3. Yeah, she wasn't microchipped, and there're still no signs up for a lost cat (and as friendly as she is, you'd think someone would miss her... ) The vet said that they consider strays for re-homing after seven days, and as the neighbours reported having seen her prowling about for a few days before she came in to us, that seven days is nearly up That said, she's the one who has made the decision, as every time we let her out into the garden, she might disappear for a few minutes, but she keeps coming back We've named her Abisha (Hebrew meaning 'Gift from God') Definitely I know that the gen Heritage strap isn't a true NATO, as it doesn't have the second strap, but also, the spring bars go through the strap, rather than under it, which is an interesting little design feature I don' thave the Gnomon strap yet, just a black with orange stripe NATO, but I cut off the second part of the strap so it is more like the Heritage strap (and also because I felt the metal band 'broke the flow' of the stripe Any time, bro Really? I guess it must just be the picture, I would've sworn it was a velcro strap, but either way, it's given me an idea for when funds allow
  4. Not too keen on the strap, but put it on a leather bund strap, and it would look the mutt's Loved this selling point:
  5. I'm surprised you hadn't seen that strap before, bro Happy to be of help
  6. Have you tried a Gnomon Heritage NATO yet?
  7. I just realized that's on a velcro strap rather than NATO... NICE
  8. As a rule*, I hate covers (there are maybe 5 covered tracks I've heard which I prefer over the original) But. These guys have got some serious talent Thanks for sharing, bro Anyone wanting to rip that to an MP3, check this out [Edit to add] Exceptions to this rule are any covers by James Darren
  9. Personally, I would suggest getting the Sinn first, simply because if you don't take to it and decide to flip it, it would probably be an easier piece to sell than the Hublot
  10. I'll read most things, but one favorite author is Eric Lustbader. He tends to make references to PP watches every so often in his novels
  11. All black watches do look nice, but one thing I would point out, is all black with grey lume and hands isn't the most easily readable color combination
  12. No change since Sunday: The kitten wasn't chipped, so is still with us, and due to how she just turned up (when I wanted another cat, but was unable to have one) I've called her Abisha (Hebrew meaning 'gift from God')
  13. I has a new friend We believe it to be a female, and she'd been seen around the garden yesterday and today, and after we gave her some food, she just decided to stay Going to take her to the vets tomorrow to see if she's chipped, but I'm really hoping she's not, as I could do with a new familiar
  14. Absolutely spot on, bro... Much easier to keep trying when you have a trustfund safety net incase things don't work out. Much harder to try again (with anything) when you live hand to mouth, and making a choice between new supplies or food for the day
  15. :thumbsupsmileyanim: :thumbsupsmileyanim:
  16. I'n the past, I've tended to drag the case against stuff like house-bricks, tile edges etc, and then used a four-way nailfile and to buff the worst damage away to give a subtle aging effect I guess overall, it depends how old and how abused you want the watch to look
  17. Ahh, I wouldn't like to say for sure... I think JKay is probably right on this one if it has a bead-blasted finish... Might be better to either ask for a replacement case, of failing that, return to dealer and fingers crossed
  18. Can't help with the question, but the watch looks awesome
