  1. I have number 83/333 and I see you have 82. Very nice watch, I had the watch modified and had the whole second hand coated in C1 Superlume and I like the modification. Also put on a Big Pilot like strap from strapluxe. It is a large watch but it does not wear like one since it does not weight that much!! TimeShare
  2. Not a rep but the Nixon 51-30 is one mother of a big watch. I wear a Pam 127 and others and they are puny compared to the NIxon (I know I bought one over the web and got it yesterday and can't carry it off.......too big). TimeShare
  3. Great looking watch. Who would have thought that by joining the 12 o'clock subdial and the 6 O'clock subdial would make such a striking watch. Great look!!! TmeShare
  4. How is the dial illumination? Do the markers and numbers illuminate or just the markers? Tmeshare
  5. Considering buying the Porsche Design Flat 6 on a rubber strap but I have found that many rep rubber straps attract all the dust within a 10 kilometer radius (that 6.2 miles for our American friends). To those of you who own the watch how is it for attracting dust? TimeShare
  6. What it does is cost him business. If he does not answer e-mails before you buy, it certainly sends a message as to what the post-purchase customer service will be like!! TimeShare
  7. I am in for one. I love unbranded watches. I have the Steinhart B-Uhr rep with no name on the dial and love that watch too. For some reason unbranded watches always get alot of attention when I wear them. Timeshare
  8. ......and the long awaited, so slow to come IWC Big Pilot watch. Personally, I have given up on this one!! Another one would be the AP RO Wempe Scuba that one seller asked us if we wanted and then nothing!! TimeShare
  9. The older Breitling deployants are 18mm (which the BOB straps are made for) and the newer Breitling Deployant is 20mm. Not sure why Breitling made the change in size (the style and appearance of the deploy is the same). My guess is either Breitling with larger case watches thought 20mm was better (doesn't explain AP ROO straps) OR most likely the change and phasing out of the 18mm end strap forced folks to buy new deployant clasps and straps which means more MONEY for Breiting and their ADs. TimeShare
  10. I found a website (http://strapluxe.com/StrapLuxe_Frameset01.htm) that sells a gator IWC Big Pilot like strap for around $150. Has any one bought from this seller and if so what is the quality like? TimeShare
  11. The Porsche Design Flat 6 is made with a metal bracelet (enter Porsche Design Flat 6 in images page of Google and the first few pictures are of the metal bracelet version) aand the rubber strap. Has anyone heard if the manufacturers and dealers plan to sell a metal bracelet version of the Porsche Design Flat 6 replica? I like the watch but am not endeared with a rubber strap on any watch as it limits where I can wear the watch (ie; formal functions). TimeShare
  12. It has been replicated but not well. The replicas had the fake chronograph (day/date), some had day date on the dial and some did not. I doubt it will be replicated with an Asian 7750 or other movement due to the small size and the popular movement towards larger watches. TimeShare
  13. P.S.: Will post a review of my new T3 with some comparison pics to all my Offshores
  14. I know when the Daytona Asian Valjoux 7750 came out it had a problem with the extra gears needed to have the constant running second at the 6 oclock location. Have these problems been rectified? TimeShare
  15. I think I read somewhere on the Board that Eddie quit selling reps widespread due to the hassle and perhaps this same hassle and stress is hitting some of the other sellers. Don't get me wrong, I value and expect customer service as much as the other person but it may be that many on the Board and other purchasers are wearing down the sellers. If a watch arrives with major issues such as I have read on the HBB, then I think the seller deserves to hear that the customer is unhappy but I think that perhaps many purchasers are not professional with their e-mails. Yes sometimes the watch we receive has an issue and as buyers we are disappointed, perhaps too much as we have got our hopes up, but sending poorly worded e-mails can end a relationship very quickly. We buyers need to remain respectful and professional in our e-mails (old saying: you get more flies with honey than you do with vinegar) and then receive back the same respect and professional responses. I also think that many of us buyers may be expecting too much. Slight alignments and minor small issues need to be examined in light of the cost of the item. Despite the profit we may see more sellers leave as the hassle just is not worth it despite the profit. Perhaps we need a code of conduct and or better communication from sellers on their web sites (ie: If it is going to take 2-3 days for an item to show up on EMS tracking tell the buyer this up front). My advise to minimize problems is as follows: Sellers: Check the watch before you send it ( I know many do but many don't). Why waste your time and the buyers time sending something that obviously did not work or had visual problems from the get go!! Also double check that it is the watch the customer ordered!! Communicate in e-mail and web site on reoccurring questions from customers. If you get the same question "as to why nothing shows up on EMS tracking for 2-3 days" then add it to an order e-mail so folks know!! Buyers: If you get a watch or watches with a problem or the wrong watch send a professional e-mail outlining the problem with no smart comments or inappropriate language. If the seller is smart back still stay respectful in the next e-mail as it may just be a bad day or the seller thinks your trying to pull something. I have received smart e-mails back and have remained respectful and eventually the person on the other end will come to understand that you are simply trying to resolve the issue in a amicable manner. If not chalk it up to experience, this seller is not going to be around long anyway if he/she treats everyone that same way. Anyway it is common sense (or Uncommon sense) but sometimes we all need to be reminded: Treat others as you would like to be treated. My 2 cents!! TimeShare
  16. Great topic idea!! Love the Seagull movement for two reasons: reliability and appearance. In answer to the question the: 1) older Moonwatch, 2) the Pam 192 and 3) Breilting Chrono-matic. Why? The Pam 192 is great and the display back is nice but the case back and etching on the Moonwatch is fantastic, really adds to the overall feel of quality of the watch. The black dial version of the Chronomatic is dissapointing but the white dial version is nice, although both lack the date function. I own all of the above watches and I keep my eye open for watches with the Seagull (Lemania) movement as the movement has never given me a moment of trouble unlike the 7750, did you say Asian!! TimeShare
  17. I have one with a black face and other than the fact you can't wind it (just start wearing it) it is a nice watch. In particular, 1st rate illumination!! TimeShare
  18. I am interested in the members opinions as to why no Cartier Roadster Chronograph has been replicated. It appears to me that the size of the case would allow a Valjoux 7750 movement to be used. The constant seconds subdial location really is not a consideration as we know from the variousAP Royal Oak Chronographs!! Thoughts? TimeShare
  19. I think this is a rumour like so many others in the past. Probably started by a member and others jump on the band wagon!! TimeShare
  20. Not a bad looking watch but would not touch it with the "Lewis Hamilton" on the dial. The next Tiger Woods as he was predicted by the advertising folks. I have never seen anyone with that big of an advantage [censored] it up so completely!! Listening and reading the British press on this guy has been sickening. They kicked the heck out of Alonso for damaging McLaren and Hamilton started the whole affair by ignoring the team and when Alonso retaliated in Hungary, Hamilton ran off to the stewards to complain which resulted in a penalty damaging both Alonso and McLaren. This fact was conveniently ignored by the British press and media!! TimeShare
  21. I have a tip for you. Try to find one of the older titanium and steel version of the replicated bracelet. These bracelets use the old one push button mechanism but weigh alot less than the all steel (polished and brushed) bracelet. I have one of the titanium and steel PAM bracelets and it gives me the look I was after without all the weight, there is a big difference in the weight between the 2 types. Another way to reduce the weight is to use a titanium PAM like the 177. All the size without the weight lifting!! TimeShare
  22. Trick question?......When does a watch become Gay?........When someone Gay wears it? TimeShare
