Yeah, but Mike: a few for you could mean 5,6,7 etc and at the rate you buy them that's about 0.000001% lol I'll expand on what I said. Any watch coming from a TD with a 'new' movement I'd not automatically have serviced. If it keeps good time then just use it as is. A Swiss ETA has probably been cobbled together from a bunch of old bits and of course it will need a service. I'd still not have the TD do it, but I'd find someone local whom I trust. There's no point spending an additional 30-50% of the cost price of the watch servicing it until you know that it needs it. Hell, that goes for gens too. There's two camps in the servicing department: those who service according to the OEM and those who service it when it needs it i.e. when it doesn't keep good time. Again, any TD saying you NEED to get it serviced straight away and that they can provide this at an additional cost I'd steer clear of.

Awe, but I guess it wasn't 'me' rather my wife that was in the top ten!

Not for me. Any 'new' movement shouldn't need a service. If it's a reclaimed ETA then yes of course it will. All my new Asian ETA have been fine.
-
Nope. If any TD said that a new watch needed a service I'd be looking for a new TD. I think it's just a way for them to make extra money. As pcardoza said, wear it and service it locally if it needs it.

Maybe people should critique their selection. For me this is not about what brand I follow but the artistic merits of the photograph. If it were I'd vote for propex44's Omega. They are all great photographs but as I only get one vote I've voted for Ceejay's movement photo. The focus and depth of field are great. I know it can be hard to capture these with macro shots. The brass and blue adds just enough colour to be interesting rather than distracting. Good luck to all

That is the problem and the biggest tell with the Speedmaster Pro - the subdial spacing. Due to the movement the subdials are spaced too far apart. There is a Speedmaster reduced which is an auto rather than manual wind that has closer subdial spacing but the whole watch is smaller than the professional. Just enjoy it for what it is - a nice looking watch in its own right.

I'm not a Hublot expert, so I don't know, but you'll likely need better quality and more detailed photos before someone can really answer.

Glad to hear that there is plenty going on behind the scenes. I'd hate for this place to become overshadowed by the craziness of the wild west next door. This place is about quality rather than quantity. Keep up the good work Rangers

+1 from the guy with no sense of balance. Having crashed my bicycle many times both as a kid and when racing as an adult, I thought it best I stick to four wheels if it has an engine.

They are here on the forum. You just need to look! Here ...... https://rwg.cc/forum/230-watches-clothing-accessories I've used Trusty Time and Torobravo with great results.

None were Quartz. Just that it ticks like a Quartz movement does.

I've never seen a rep of these as a chronograph, only as a non chrono. Try emailing some Trusted Dealers with your photograph and cross your fingers. If they come back and say it's not made them accept it and stop searching as you'll just get scammed elsewhere.

I can't believe that they are 'replicating' a Quartz 'jumping second hand'. That's just nuts.

Touchy subject! Google gold plating and see for yourself what it entails. It's likely that the plating will outlive the watch anyway. If you really love the watch buy it and enjoy. If it does start to wear through in, typically, a few years, get the case replated.

Sorry, I can't help you with that one. Although there are people who use the ceramic Seamaster mid case for frankens so it work. Don't forget, these are reps and there are several factories making them so you may find a combination that will work.

I've had this 44mm 300 Diver Chrono almost 3 weeks.

Post up a pic of what you have now - unless you're still waiting for the new one to arrive. -
There are differences. Look at the photo below, for starters the chrono second hand is different. Maybe check here for part numbers - http://www.ofrei.com/page764.html

Well done. I was starting to have issues myself.
