  1. It's very quiet in here since fluffy has 'left'. I'll ask: has anyone bought a blue V2 SOA 42mm? I had the V1 but wasn't impressed with the dark blue chapter ring. I'm hoping the new V2 is more gen like in colour.
  2. Looks good. Macro images highlight any flaws even on gens. I'd hazard a guess at gen. Pearl looks correct with good positioning.
  3. Thanks for posting this. I'd have missed it otherwise. I've been surfing (on and off) for over 30 years and remember when Kelly Slater was a young upstart. The kids done well to say the least. There is some great action in the videos.
  4. Sorry, I can't help other than ask - could your hands be relumed and reused?
  5. Ok ok. I think we've had our fun, partly at Legends expense. Hope all's well that ends well. Over and out.
  6. Damn, this could open up a whole new range of reps that I'd go for.
  7. Quite simple then. Don't deal with them. As often said "if it's too good to be true then it probably is". Alternatively "A fool and his money is easily parted", which is what they rely on and explains why I have no money!
  8. I've lusted after many a watch but when they arrive they just sit in the watch box as often as not. I bought a TC rouge new and wore it only a few time in 2 years! I sold it recently and don't miss it. But these new builds have me excited all over again, I hope I don't go down the path of frankening as it will keep me poor!
  9. I'm having a few 'specials' built by a great member here. Over the last few years I've collected parts as and when they come up. I was in no rush to complete things, after all; "good things come to those who wait" or so my mother tells me. It's now been a while since I started and I'm getting updates and things are getting close on some of the builds. My excitement is mounting, partly because I can't go out and buy these watches off the shelf and partly because I've been planning these for years. Am I alone in this or do others get excited about frankens, more so than a standard (however desirable) rep?
  10. Look at the trusted dealers and decide what you want from there. Allow a few hours though as there is plenty to go through.
  11. It's your day. Wear what makes you happy, be it a sub, a Tissot or a Graham Chronofighter. When I got married I wore an old Seiko because it was sentimental to me. TBH no one is going to be looking at your watch.
  12. You certainly do my friend. She's out for her monthly airing at the moment!
  13. I'd have him send it for appraisal without him paying anything. Then slice the bottom of the box open and refill it with a dog turd or something. Next video yourself carefully opening it and to your surprise it's not there. Let him prove to the post office that he sent you a watch. There's always more than one way to skin a cat.
  14. I wish you'd not made this thread and accepted the watch back and then said to him 'cheers for returning my watch you scamming little sh1tbag'
  15. Try our trusted dealers. Only them. Don't ask about others you've found on the web.
  16. Try looking in our Trusted Dealers section. They can all get the same watches so pick one you're happy with and ask them if they can get it. Some have better web sites than others but don't rely on their web sites as they don't update them very often, always ask for what you're after.
