  1. Ready for the afternoon walk in the park.
  2. See my post about the broken crown. You need to unscrew the 4 case screws, open the 2 part case, and then lift the movement with dial out. You will have to mount the movement in a holder or put it gently in a towel and rescrew the rotor. Careful not to bend the hands.
  3. I just emailed Andrew the photos and inquired about the replacement stem, crown and clutch. Let's see what comes back.
  4. Thanks, occb2! I need a Patek crown...which nobody will have. Or can you take a Rolex crown and remove the clutch elements and screw them into the Patek? Perhaps this is now a salvage A7750 project? Maybe I should sell off the A7750 movement for $100. Then sell the dial and band as parts?
  5. Many thanks, men. Now...about this crown business.... As you can see from the photo, the 'insert' piece that connects the 7750 stem to the crown is damaged. I assume I need a new one of these pieces as well? What is that inser piece called and where do I get it? Also, thank you for the note to order 3 stems. I did not know I had to cut them to work in this repair.
  6. Yes. That did it. The broken stem seeded into the crown has been removed. I will check ebay now.
  7. Hello, friends. The watch, with the crown open, was bumped off a table onto a hard floor. POW! The stem near the crown snapped off. A bit of research here told me this may be a repairable fix. I uncased the movement and popped the release clutch to get the remaining stem out of the movement. This is shown in the pictures. Big questions: 1. where do I source a new working stem? 2. How do I get the Patek crown off the existing broken stem? 3. Anything else to know? Any help here would be appreciated. Thank you!
  8. DVN, is this a strap from our friend VNHANDCRAFT? That black and rose looks sick, btw.
  9. Replica sunglasses that may let in additional UV. Yeah, that's just what I need...a larger pupil with more UV going in. This is NOT the way to go if value long term eye health. It's just stupid. Buy the genuine article. I wear grey framed Persol's with custom brown lenses. The model # is below. Very similar to the Wayfarer style.
  10. Looks good with a parka in the snow or jeans and sweater in the car. IWC 5001 in rose gold from the Z Factory.
  11. Very, very nice. I am going to check my 5001 for the '10' alignment issue and post a photo. One small recommendation...get a nice blue alligator strap for yourself. I ordered a blue one for my rose gold version today. I want a unique look....blue alligator paired with rose gold. Happy to post photos when I get the project completed. Here is my '10'. You decide if it is aligned. I think it's OK.
  12. Nice. What do you charge for this service?
  13. Patek 5980 for a cold, snowy morning.
  14. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-11-20/even-1-hurting-swiss-watch-exports-plunge-most-financial-crisis An interesting article and the comments below are a bit funny too. Perhaps Swiss sales down mean replicas sales up....or not!
  15. OH! I went with 21 based on DVN's recommendation. Yipes! I may have to break out the digital calipers this evening and do a change order.
  16. As for eBay, both DVN and I have ordered custom 21/18 gator straps from this gent in Viet Nam. He'll make them custom for you to 21/18 size in any color you wish. I have two on order now at $35/pop. http://stores.ebay.com/vnhandcraftart/?_dmd=1&_nkw=21%2F18 Note, if you're running the deployant buckle, you'll need to have the 'non holed side' a shorter length than the other. The post above assumes you are running a tang buckle...which will not work for your deployment. Just like this photo example, note the short end. http://www.ebay.com/itm/21mm-Orange-Alligator-Skin-Watch-Strap-Deployment-band-For-IWC-Deployant-clasp-/221864541626 Cheers on a great piece. I have your exact model with a white dial.
