Personally speaking, elephant hide is not right under any circumstance. -
LOL...The exact reason I passed on the the Ingy in the Sales corner. The DW and finding an acceptable DW replacement.

Same here. Toro is excellent. As is Andrew at Trusty. Both accept PayPal and ship promptly.

I'd buy the blue one in a second, but the dial printing (black vs. gen white) and the outer edges (blue vs. gen fade to black) are just unforgivable for a rep. A total pass, 100%. I wish they would pay attention to the details as that is what makes these GO's so interesting. Here's to hoping there is v2 for this 'Sixties' model. The other one I'm keen to see is the Senator Panorama Date Moonphase. I tired this model on at an authorized dealer and it was exquisite.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver Chronograph

It's decent in yellow/blue, but I will not buy the rep. I suspect this will be a beast when it comes to weight. The current diver v7 is the limit of what I find acceptable on the wrist. Also, the steel clasp from experience on the diver is AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL when used for swimming. In fact, I sold it here and replaced it with the rubber tang for my swimming use. -

The rotor repair should be an easy fix. -
[part 1+2 and final thought] full tear down IWC A5001

Just chiming in again. I took apart my rose gold/white dial model last night to fix some factory dust issues and to grease the case seal. In particular, the dial had some dust particles and 'fibers' inside that cast shadows on the dial. These particles were very noticeable under direct sunlight. The crystal and case inside was also a bit dirty. These photos were very helpful in taking everything apart for the cleaning and reassembly. Now my watch is clean and the rubber case seal is greased. I'll note taking the rotor off is the easy part. Putting the screw, jewel and jewel topper back in place is fun little challenge for steady hands and a loupe. Be patient. The keyless works is very easy as well. The crown and stem come out nice and easy after depressing the clutch release button. Thank you, again, for taking the time to detail your approach. -
That looks gen to me vs the other rep dial backs I have seen.

A bit lost finding the best luminor 1950 submersible

I agree with the waterproofing comment from PCard above. I have a titanium PAM 089, steel 112 and steel 114. I sold the rest, hahah! The 089 has been in shallow ocean dives (20 ft under), saunas, chlorine pools (15 ft bottom), and literally hours in a steam room without issue. Anything below a 30 ft dive and I'd take it in for seal check and regrease to be safe. In general, the PAM's are very sturdy from my experience. Good luck with your purchase. Titanium is an excellent choice for a Panerai. It's light, strong and repairs extremely well with a dremel brushing head. I have brushed mine a few times and it's like new each time.
