  1. My PAM just happened to be on a leather strap for that photo, you can put whatever strap you want on it. I'm pretty sure everyone knows not to swim with leather.
  2. Even better, it would be handy to put your location in the topic as well. ie: "Rolex Noob Explorer 2, Swiss ETA 2836-2, CONUS"
  3. May be rare but it suffers from the usual 16710 issues. Crown is wrong size, crown guards wrong, insert looks bad, and the rehaut has that giveaway rep slope to it. The only thing "rare" about this model is probably the ETA GMT movement. I have only seen two or three GMT reps with that movement and they were installed by modders. The piece is worth buying for the movement but I don't know what you can do to cases with that wok-like rehaut.
  4. The TC bracelet is pretty damn close to gen. Probably the best one out there.
  5. Rep itself looks pretty bad TBH, I'd buy that for the movement though if it's a gen ETA. Probably needs a good servicing I would assume..
  6. Yea, I prefer a retailer that actually answers their emails. Additionally I assume that his spring bars are for 20mm lugs, I need 21mm springbars.
  7. Does anyone know where I can find some 21mmx2.0mm gen spec spring bars? I have bought about 5 different kinds now and none of them have fit right. I have a Noob Explorer 2 and the top SEL fits so loose that it flips around if you push on it. I don't even wear the watch on it's bracelet anymore because of this. I keep trying different brands and none fit right. It's weird because one end of the watch has the right spring bar and the other end has a bar that has to be like 1.5mm. Thanks in advance/.
  8. Wearing my Casio Edifice today, scratches my Speedy Pro itch.
  9. Better to pay the duty then to receive no watches. I think that's where a lot of folks get caught up as you pointed out, trying to declare too low a value.
  10. Looks pretty good to me. The date alignment and cyclops centering are usually not top notch on most of these reps. I'd say that one looks decent. I have a Noob Explorer 2 myself and the cyclops is crooked and needs to be reset. These aren't swiss made watches, they are chinese replicas that are mass produced. If you plan on keeping a rep it's always a good idea to send it off to a horologist to have the movement serviced, have it waterproofed and pressure tested, and while they do these things centering a date wheel overlay and fixing a cyclops is something that could be added on.
  11. Second this. The date alignment is hard to judge in off-angle photos. Looks a hair left justified maybe but like I said, hard to tell.
  12. I usually just take the watch head off of the bracelet, wrap the bracelet and watch head so good that it's a huge pain in the ass to unwrap, and then mark the customs sheet as watch parts. I have never had a problem so far.
  13. I'm going to go ahead and hold off on this. I want to check with my source to make sure these are new recently manufactured movements first just to be sure. I don't want to risk getting NOS units like those in that link that may need servicing.
  14. I'm located in the U.S. I'm assuming the movements that I am purchasing are fresh movements, they are the nickle plated finish ones not brass like those.
  15. I have an opportunity to scoop up some Seagull ST2130 movements for 50.00 ea. I plan on buying a few for myself but I am willing to do a group order, I can get the cost down to 45.00 a piece if I can get around 10-15 total. Anyone interested feel free to let me know.
  16. TBH I haven't heard good things about the SA3135. I would go with an ETA or ETA clone, if the SA3135 craps out, you will never find parts for it. Plus, let's be honest, who are you fooling? With a closed case back no one will ever see the movement, and any watchmaker that works on it will know it's not the real deal. The finishing on them is so rough, only a fool would mistake them for the real deal. EDIT: I just saw that this was the decorated movement, and my statement still stands. I have heard bad things about the painted gears that they use in these flaking and contaminating the movements.
  17. Seiko chrono for doing county things today.
  18. Firstly, you need to understand the business that you are undertaking. You are trying to purchase an illegal gray market watch from an illegal shop in China. You are not buying a DVD from Amazon. You are going to have to exercise a lot more patience if you are going to even begin to consider purchasing one of these watches from the dealers on this site. You also have to understand that the dealers time zones are opposite ours, so you will usually find that their responses lag 8-12 hours behind your inquiries. Some cases it can take a few days to get a reply back and this isn't anything unusual. There are plenty of topics on this board that can set you straight on the path to purchasing your first watch. If you do not have the patience to search through them and gleam the information that you seek, you are free to swim the shark infested waters of the internet and set out on a journey of your own.
