Yep, white dial wide boy. I was looking for the gold/champagne more common dial, but this one is different and somewhat rare. Not sure I can deal with the different colored lume plots but we will see how it looks in person. I have the same issue with the size.
Lol, thanks but no bracelet. This is my next attempt at a pseudo dress watch to be worn on straps. I have a couple of nice vintage gen straps to wear it on.
This is the one I am going to look at.
This is going to be really special. All the time and effort you are putting into this is going to produce a great result with a great story.
Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Good luck!
Definitely prefer the dial with simple plots. Dig the case, it has a nice thin vintage look and curve. With the rivet it really has a nice vintage vibe.
Might need to try one on.
Pretty happy with my blue Pelagos for this "segment" with bevels, pcgs and some modern mix, but this Oris has some features I really like.
Great story. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I went through a very similar progression. As many here have.
It is a curse and a blessing...lol
Congrats[emoji322]. Look forward to seeing what you bought.
I think I have a few HD close up I found online. I will check at the office and send them to you if I do. Or maybe I cam have my buddy with the good camera shoot you a couple.
I get what you are saying.
A really good modder could thin the case profile and lugs and/or add pcgs and bevels. If they have the right tools to do case work and bevels like that.
But don't forget a custom domed sapphire, custom hands modified bezels, inserts and on the 216A a genuine 8mm crown and tube. Then there is the real relief gilt dial. And yes someone special can make a dial like that but for a fairly significant amount of $$.
I am comparing to Bamford or project X who do not any significant mods like this.
Is there some margin built in there...of course, but I am still of the opinion the TM watches are much better than other similar offerings.
Excellent. I totally get that. Really like the BLRO.
I was very close to getting a 116618 LB because it took so long to find the gilt. I dig a few of the 6 digit models. Love to look at them and marvel at the technical advances--especially on the sky dweller and YM II, but the 4 and 5 digits just wear so much better on me. Not to mention the 4 digits will keep appreciating [emoji1303]
I do not have any good group shots. Really need to invest in a camera and get some decent pics.
1966 5513 Gilt my favorite watch.

Actively looking for a Daytona and a proper dress watch to round out the "collection".
