The gen came in either rubber or SS. I prefered rubber for overall comfort and sportiness. The dealer said I could give him a call anytime and he can ship me a SS bracelet for it. Cost for the SS is $300 though. As for the day/date wheels, only The Zigmeister can answer that when he gets a rep for a relume or service.

This is my DSN 127 I got a couple of months back. Does it look correct to you? Mind you I have had the dial and hands relumed, but is the color and alignment of the dial font correct?

The overall accuracy of the new Porsche Design Flat 6 is very good. There are some minor differences between the rep and gen, but a very well done rep. The next super rep maybe? Porsche Design Flat 6 P6340 The gen is on the top and rep on the bottom (pictures courtesy of Trusty). As you can see, the accuracy is quite uncanny. The color of the inner bezel is a little off but the markers, date font and overall quality of the dial and bezel is very good. The crown is virtually spot on. The gen's engraving is a little deeper and crisper, but the rep is quite accurate nevertheless. The chrono buttons on the rep is tighter and more concealed than the rep. The rep has a larger gap and seems to have a little different finish. Markings are very good though. You will see that the markings on the case are spot on. The rotor on the gen is engraved instead of using a sticker. The parts on the movement have machined swirl markings on the gen and just polished on the rep. The gen also seems to have a regulator pin close to the main spring. I am sure The Zigmeister can elaborate better on this. You will also notice that the strap on the gen has 6340 marked on the end close to the lugs. These markings are on both straps. The buckle clasp is spot on with the correct markings. The metal used on the clasp of the gen is very solid and heavy. Much better than that of any of the reps I own. The strap on the gen is polished and hard rubber, different than say the rubber on a Chopard Miglia Gran Turismo XL which is grippy and not smooth. The lume on the gen as expected, uses C3 superluminova and is spectacular to look at in the dark. Some of you with the reps might want to ship yours to The Zigmeister for a makeover. The watch comes with an awesome case and box. I hope this review helps a bit with your decision to buy the rep. The overall accuracy to the gen is very good and highly recommended. Of course there is nothing like a gen. I really love this watch, and that is why I forked up some cash to get it. In case you are wondering, the AR is single sided with a light purply tint.

Challenge to our trusted Dealers re: 7750 super reps
Jawo replied to mezzanine's topic in General Discussion
I have had about half a dozen watches serviced by The Zigmeister. I trust no one else to do the work. It may seem steep to dish out a couple hundred bucks everytime I get it done, but I only do it for my most cherished reps. Does it run better? Damn right it does!! Since The Zigmeister serviced my HBB the rotor spins more freely and the accuracy is to +5 seconds a day. Not to shabby. -
In regards to reps, I first have to like the style of the watch. Then I research to determine what flaws it has. If I can deal with the flaws, I will buy it. I will always assume that every rep will carry a flaw. Thanks to these forums, members are always really quick to point them out.

It's been a while since the SSD got some wrist time.

I think the makers of this watch could possibly the best rep factory around. They also produce the Flat 6 which also appears to be a very good rep. I look forward to seeing more from them. Maybe a Zenith?

Why "Ultimate", "Super", "Best", and "1:1" Should never be used
Jawo replied to anton's topic in General Discussion
I agree with you about the 1:1 or "perfect" term. These are sunonomous with the perception of identical replicas which don't exist. I don't mind the term Ultimate or Super rep because these do not define perfection or exactness. We have to keep in mind that these terms are used as marketing ploys and we have to be very thankful of these forums to inform us of the imperfections of these reps. Take the terms in stride and read up on the forums before making your decisions. -
I have a gen Flat 6, and the gap between the chrono buttons is what raises concern on the rep. REP GEN I am also not a big fan of rep casebacks using screws to secure it. They are not of the same quality when it comes to the seal and tightness of the caseback. The only watches I trust and have tested in the water are the SSD, UPO and Steelfish. I have scuba dived with all these watches with no probs.

I am in 100% when you offer this as a mod. I think it looks fantastic and a huge step for this watch. Great Job!!!!

Just got mine yesterday. It has 24mm lugs so the strap possibilities are endless. The quality of the watch is absolutely fabulous. AR is great, and the finishing of the watch seems so much like how a gen should feel.

But ditto goes for anyone wearing a submersible watch rated for 300+ meters. Most of us will never take a watch below a swimming pool. The styling is very unique and is definately a love or hate watch. People have the same opinions about HBB and Rolex or cars for that matter.
-
Much agreed that this 1:1 term should be ablolutely 1:1 in all visual aspects. I almost like the term "Ultimate" better. I think that most of us that have been around the rep world for a while, take the 1:1 term in stride and not too seriously other than that it is a pretty good rep. Not so good for the newbies to the rep world though. If 1:1 is to be used, then it should be specific to the trait of the watch where the 1:1 accuracy is. Like 1:1 case or 1:1 dial. I have yet to see a rep that is truely 1:1.

It is really funny how finicky we are when it comes to reps. I too have become picky when it comes to an accuracy of a rep. But at the end of the day, virtually every person I interact with on a day to day basis would never know any different. The president of my company has a personal collection of over 40 gens and has commented on my watches on many occassions and has never called me out. Either way, I pulled the trigger on this watch and I think it is a great rep. I will post pics when I get it.

It was actually the pube hair stuck in the flux capacitor made in China

Just so you guys know, since I started this thread I will probably never buy a watch again from Davidsen. In fact, the 111E bothered me so much with its flaws that I ended up selling it to my friend for about half of what I paid for it. If you want a PAM like stated in previous posts....buy from Angus at Puretime. Excellent product, service and communication. I know that his reps don't come with superluminova, but that is what The Zigmeister is for. His reps in my opinion are the most visually accurate. The value is excellent. This is my 111E from Puretime with a visit to The Zigmeister:
