  1. haha love these stories of how the salesperson is a jerk until the double red pops out! lol awesome! dizz
  2. assuming the color in the photo is correct, the marker on the bezel does look copper.... but it could be a bad pic...
  3. I love cars too and always have, heres mine 2002 Audi A4 all wheel drive, 3.0 fully fully loaded, with thumb shifters and premium leather etc - lowered 4" with neuspeed RACE springs. Rode like a tank but it looks sooooooo SWEEET!! ANother pic After 19" rims, yokohama AVS sports, Brulen race exhaust. GOD I LOVE THIS CAR 1998 Grand CHerokee Limited. Up country suspension, custom made HID Valeo projector headlights with bosch ballasts and philips D2S 4300k burners (bulbs). All HID parts are custom mounted and conceiled inside the stock headlight housing and front glass. Pretty sweet.
  4. im not an expert by any means but have you tried turning the stem slowly and carefully as you put is back in? When i remove a stem its always in the winding position so i dont think thats the problem dizz
  5. wow wow and wow!!! thats an awesome project!! simply amazing!
  6. i like the look of bigger worn looking lug holes. excellent 1665 you have there!! dizz
  7. It was only a matter of time.. eventually they will all be asian or asian hybrids as stock dries up... dizz
  8. diamond BCE, usually Christian Audigier shirts. I work in the "entertainment" industry so its ok for me to be flashy. Outside of work i wear my stainless MBW franken sub and usually jeans and t-shirts. I usually wear a watch to fit my activity/occasion and wardrobe
  9. interesting idea. I'll soak the whole watch head in a jar of penetrating oil for a few days with the stem pulled out so it gets the threads from the inside also. HAHA. the movement is toast and the dial is crap anyways.. i just want to extract the case. thx for the tip dizz
  10. i'd buy the asian version and send it out for full service (The Zigmeister or someone) and you'll have about the same quality as ETA after service and you've saved $300 over the cost of an ETA version.....
  11. id have to agree with that. black sub #1 for sure.
  12. if you go to homedepot or equivilant superstore just buy glue thats made specificly for ceramic. Or try a crafts store. I know ive seen specific ceramic glue many times. Ive never really been looking for it so i could be wrong but most glues state exactly what they are designed to bond right on the packaging. They make like 15 diff kinds of crazy glue and the crazy glue GEL package i have in front of me says works best on glass, ceramics.. etc etc dizz
  13. The swordfish and the chrono fighter are some of the coolest new rep releases i've seen in a while! Hopefully by the end of summer i will have both models in my collection. Its a very accurate rep from what ive heard and seen dizz
  14. I havent had the best of luck with Asian 7750s but I know that after they are properly serviced they are almost as good as the real thing (eta 7750) If i buy an A7750 chrono watch i almost expect to have to get it serviced well within a year. If you are looking for long term and reliable then go for a non-chrono ETA movement like in a Rolex Submariner or a Breitling SFSO dizz
  15. excellent post rob I remember seeing a website once selling ETA movements and you could either get the ETA new but non-packaged (surplus) for say $150 and the same guaranteed serviced/oiled ETA movement individually packed like in that picture would be about $50 more. I guess the cheaper "bulk/surplus" ones are going to the be the ones shipped to china anyways.. so just becasue your watch comes with an ETA, doesnt mean its fully serviced and reliable. It could have been sitting in a bin somewhere for 3 years and all dried out and rusted kinda like the day-date i bought new last summer from a trusted dealer.... even the replacement movement i finally got was just packed in a little plastic case and not sealed at all. If i was going to order a new ETA movement i would definatly spend the extra $ and get the sealed one. dizz
  16. i still have an old datejust that i cant get the back off for the life of me! Ive tried everything short of using a sledgehammer. i guess some watches were never ment to be opened LOL
  17. In canada we use smoke signals... the pigons are used to carry the watches from town to town.
  18. i got my caseback off my explorer II by heating the caseback with a lighter for a few seconds and it worked perfect. I assume freezing with an ice cube would have the same effect. Just a little temp diff between the case and caseback should help it break loose. keep us posted on the progress!!!!! cant wait to see pics! dizz
  19. These new super avengers actually look VERY nice in real life. They have a better feel to them than the old one. Its hard to explain but it looks and feels more "expensive" than the old model. it has more of a feeling that the higher end Bentley models have. I had the oportunity to play with one for a bit last week and its very comfortable and the new "Pilot II" (I believe thats the name) bracelet is a 100% improvement over the cubical looking link bracelet on the old model. This would be a great model for GZ to replicate... Angus are you listening? Can you pass along a message for us that the people want a BCE quality Super Avenger!!
  20. Is that a gen? That date font is amazing! You must share your source!! lol But seriously you guys are making me sick with your vintage subs! haha. I cant wait to start my 1680 project! dizz
  21. very very nice!! Still my favorite watch of all time
  22. I have a noob daytona sec@6 serial 520117 so i can confirm that also. Not sure what dealer it come from though. dizz
