  1. i dont think theres going to be much of a problem. Like Ken said its only going to be a 4 or 5 day slowdown same as our xmas holiday season here in North America. Not a big deal at all. dizz
  2. Thats awesome!!! nice work! My dad builds guitars also now that hes retired. Nothing this fancy but i know he really loves doing it. dizz
  3. Well hes using the exact same picture for both the 6.3mm and the 7mm crown auctions so who knows what you're actually getting. dizz
  4. Try a torx bit screwdriver and see if it fits. You shouldnt need any amount of force to get the tube into place as long as the case is tapped properly. I used the crown to tighten the tube into my 16610 and it worked perfect. Good suggestion. dizz
  5. How could you ever get sick of seeing Daytonas?!? They are a beautiful watch not matter what the vintage! dizz
  6. Yeah be carefull. Guys will sell "Lot of 5 rolex triplock crowns" on ebay and when you get it, you find out they are the older 24-702 crowns and you cant use them. Always confirm exactly what you are getting when it comes to buying gen watch parts online. It sounds like one of your crowns is a rep crown. I just measured a gen triplock with digital calipers 24-703 and its 6.93mm in diameter. Its used so it may not be 100% acurate but its gunna be pretty darn close to that. A noobmariner crown for example is 6.86mm. A cheap CN sub has a crown thats 7.09mm in diameter. A gen tudor sub crown takes the same 24-703 size case tube but the crown has thicker walls making the crown 7.08mm in diameter. I always assumed the tudor triplock was the same as the Rolex but its slightly bigger. The best way to quicky tell is to look at the backside of the crown where the threads are in the outside wall. The wall of the gen crown is VERY VERY thin allowing for the big diameter casetube to screw inside it. If the crown has thicker walls then its not genuine. If you have a look at yours i bet you can see they are different. The smaller replica crown will have a thicker wall compared to the gen. I wish i had some comparison pics on this computer but i dont sorry. dizz
  7. yep it sure will. "Polystrippa" works great also. Just dont get either chemical on your hands. Be sure to wear gloves. Its not worth the pain after of the dead/dry/burnt painfull skin for the week after. Trust me i learned the hard way years ago. dizz
  8. HAHA i know exactly what you mean. I am blind as a bat and even with my big number alarm clock i still cant see it haha. My old seiko chonograph would glow for about 2 days. I remember waking up in the middle of the night and it would be glowing like a light saber! Even my superlumed pam127 doesnt glow like that. I wonder what the hell they used on those things? I need to send a dial off to The Zigmeister to see what proper lume is really like. dizz
  9. good point, i wouldnt wear a leather strap in the shower or when swimming either. Its not good for the leather at all. i absolutely HATE the feeling of wet and slimey leather. No diving watch should be on leather. Leather is dressy... rubber and steel for all weather use.
  10. lol i just watched the movie again last week and honestly not one gadget stands out in my mind right now. Maybe it was all the free crak thats affecting my memory lol. We need less naked james bond and more cool gagets and stuff. Oh yeah and they need to go back to ROLEX and dump the omegas!!! haha Here comes the flames from the Omega guys!!
  11. the more i see these the more i need one!!! damn you guys! lol i think im also going to get one from ANgus.. the black magic lite and send the crystal off for double AR dizz the more i see these the more i need one!!! damn you guys! lol i think im also going to get one from ANgus.. the black magic lite and send the crystal off for double AR dizz
  12. Good info!! I would for sure get the asian version and send the crystal for double AR. I couldnt justify the extra cost for the movement upgrade and AR coating even though i believe the double AR is absolutely necessary on this watch. Ive never really looked to see what the movement exactly was in the asian versions. Ive had so many asian movement watches and to be honest (on average) they've outlasted my swiss ETA watches lifespans and reliability. Ive switched to buying asian movement watches lately.. my PAM127, my Super sea-dweller, my BCE etc etc. But i guess when the movement does die, its cheaper to get it replaced than to service it for $150+ Hey D4M can you post this over at RWC as well? cheers!! Dizz
  13. I just got home from work (4am) and im gunna sit down to some homemade Lobster ravioli, baked salmon and wild rice! Im so excited that i even just put on my MBW1665 Double red sea-dewller for the occasion!! LOL i dont know why but i did. The lobster and salmon made me think about deep sea diving! dizz
  14. This is the info i've been waiting for. Ive been looking at the HBB black magic lite and i've been waiting to read something like this to help me make up my mind. I would for sure send it for double AR right away. Ive always like the HBB watches and so far the black magic is my favorite. thanks for the info! This is gunna be an expensive year haha dizz
  15. I dont even know if this is the exact same Yachy. The one BK sells is gunna be the GOOD one from the 'noobfactory' with the 520117 serial #... the same as you would get from TTK. WM9 is probably selling the noob Yachtmaster also and calling it his own. After all.. he was showing pics of HIS custom Submariner and it had the Noob 520117 serial number on it. haha. I guess he figures we are stupid or something. From everything i've read about WM9 and his watches, (and theres been a lot if you do a search) i would personally stay away. dizz
  16. wow what a difference!! I never really thought much of this watch but now i sorta want one! Hopefully i can get in on the next The Zigmeister/Cheif AR run for my Bentley Motors T. I cant wait to see that sucker with some serious double AR! awesome watch! Congratulation! dizz
  17. Why dont they just call it Bond22? These titles are getting rediculous haha. I hope one day they go back to Rolex becasue i really dont like Omegas anymore lol. The last bond film as borderline ok... needs WAY more gadgets and cars though. The last film really didnt have that "007" feeling. dizz
  18. I would send it back. im not an Omega expert by any means so this is just my personal opinion. The small lug/bracelet size is a big difference from the gen. If it wasnt for that i would probably keep it. It looks pretty good. dizz
  19. I really like this ChronoFighter! I think its a beautiful design that pushes the limits of conventional watchmaking. When i first saw this watch i was blown away! Sure its ugly as hell but its definately on my list of things to buy this year! dizz
  20. You mean the AR isnt supposed to do that? lol
  21. man i miss wearing my fiddy. The stupid crystal broke shortly after i posted my review. I'm still waiting for a replacement Saphire AR coated one from the dealer Hopefully one day soon i can wear it again. Its a big and beautiful watch. dizz
  22. Thats an excellent reference site. I like the pointed crown guards personally. even if its incorrect for the 1665 i like it!!! haha
  23. I had the same watch with snowflake hands except with blue dial and insert. 91350 bracelet also. I sold it 8 or 9 years ago for $850 to buy rims for my 4runner. Im officially an idiot. Since we're on the topic.. i also had a gen white dial submariner 1680 with 91350 bracelet (all orig) that i sold at the same time for $1800 to pay for the suspension lift. WOW im kicking myself now, but back then thats all the submariner was worth! It brings a tear to my eye everytime i see a tudor or 1680 sub dizz
  24. The standard layout for the 7750 has the seconds@9. The seconds at six is a poorly designed attached conversion that WILL fail. The older 21,600bph movements are not very good quality but the newer fast beat 28,800 Asian7750's are actually pretty good. The Zigmeister says that once the movement is properly serviced it can be as reliable as a swiss ETA7750. From personal experience i would recommend to stay away from the sec@6 until its redesigned and stay away from the older Asian 21,600 movements. If you can afford the real swiss ETA7750 then thats your best bet for sure. Keep in mind that even a real swiss ETA7750 modded for sec@6 will use the same crappy conversion gears and will also be prone to failure. dizz
  25. This is a vintage 1665 double red sea-dweller. The bezel should turn freely in BOTH directions. Only the newer saphire crystal models click in one direction. Modding this to a uni-direction would be extremely incorrect. The lug holes are a bit off center BUT i've drilled out lug holes on 1680 submariners are they ALWAYS look better after they are enlarged to the proper 1.3mm size.. or maybe its 1.2mm? I cant remember off hand. I drill mine to 1.5mm only because i think it looks better but thats personal opinion i guess I love lug holes!!! cheers dizz
