All the seconds @ six models have the correct subdial spacing. The 7750 daytonas are way too far apart and its quite noticeable. Its not soo bad on the vintage daytonas, but on the newer ones it looks bug-eyed and silly. If you can find the old seconds @ six daytona with the thinner case and the 21,600 bph movement, then you are off to a good start. All the new ones are way too thick and its very noticable on the wrist to anyone who knows. The case thickness is the first thing i look for when i see someone wearing a daytona. The gen is actually quite thin.

He probably uses a copy & paste language translator so some will get lost.

Thats weird. Maybe the watch case is hidden somewhere in the packaging and the digital thing is a decoy to get it through your customs???? Was it a box that seemed too large or was it just a small package? I know the last time I ordered from DW it took about a month to receive it by registered mail, and I am in Canada, so maybe your actual item is still on the way.

Exactly

yeah its a tight little girl I just used my crystal press dies and my vice to "press" them apart. I didnt think of that at first, but that worked well. I wish my MBW1680 bezel was on this tight. I'm always worried I'm going to lose it because I've taken it off and on so many times while swapping inserts. At least I'll never lose the bezel while I'm wearing it!

Question for you all... I have a 1680 case and i cant seperate the bezel from the retention ring. When i try to remove the bezel, the retention ring come off too. I dont want to bend it... any ideas? I need to adjust the spring and I cant get it apart Any ideas are appreciated. dizz

If you talk to the gen owners they have a different meaning of the word franken. I agree that it means a mix of gen and aftermarket parts, but some of the hard core collectors will even call an all gen rolex a franken. If you take a Submariner LV and put in a black insert, they call it a franken. Or a GMT with a blue bezel insert they will call a franken.

Platinum status allows you to bypass the swear censor? LOL

If you want a 7836, then get it from Josh. He sells them for $50 and they are pretty good. If you want the older style 7206, then get the non-stretchy one. The spring loaded bracelet is not comfortable and it rips out your arm hair.

Heres what you do... Go buy a GEN 6263. Swap in a crappy faded old looking aftermarket dial and aftermarket hands, then send it to Rolex to service. They will want to replace the dial and hands with Rolex parts, or refuse to service the watch. Get the fake dial and hands replaced replaced with a Rolex parts and have the watch serviced. When you get the watch back, swap in the original dial and resell the watch. Now you have a gen dial and a set of hands. Might be a lot of work and it will tie up lots of money for a few months but it will work. I've done it before with a submariner bracelet. I sent in my 16610 for service and installed a fake bracelet before I sent it. They replaced the bracelet and it was less than 1/2 the price of a used one on VRF.

You just need the little tube with the rivet pins in the ends. You can get them on ebay in packs of 10. They are good to have around if you work on lots of Rolex's. You can repair all kinds of clasps with them. dizz

3135 look movement is junk and the ETA clones are crap. Every ETA clone movement I have bought has failed within the first month. Either get the ETA or get the cheap 21j movement. The cheap 21j movement is MUCH more reliable than the clone ETA. I have 21j chinese type movements from 10 years ago that still run strong and keep good time. dizz

I just liked how the hour markers weren't super puffy like a relume. Thats one looks nice. Now you've motivated me to work on mine again!
-
HAHA its not that bad at normal size, and in real life. The cornet looks weird in the pic. Ive got another dial too but the markers are fading to a greenish ugly color. He sold them as original dials unpainted. Good thing I only paid $100 for them. The dial is just sitting on the movement that came with the Exp2. My 2893-2 hasnt arrived yet. I'll probably end up buying the H5 canon pin set for the ETA to raise the hands up and away from the dial a bit. The other dial I have is much better but NEEDS to be relumed as its all discolored and flaking off. @cjjoyce - no thats not my dial.

Lugs look MUCH better now! nice work

very nice Jojo!!! Beautiful

Looks really good. Im about half way through mine. Just waiting to find an acceptable dial. Where did you get your dial?
-
I had some PT endlinks on my MBW1680 and they fit very snug and looked really good.

I found two different 1675 dials that were about the condition I was looking for. One is about a 1.9mil and the other is a 3.2mil. I think this is the one I am going to use.... Just need to get a 1675 bezel set and a gen insert. I'm just waiting for one to turn up so I dont have to order from Mr.Slimeball990 Heres the beginning stage of the project. Im still waiting on a few parts, so this one is a little slow going...

YIKES!!!! Must take you about 45 min just to set the time!
-
I'll check when I get home. I might have a set of aftermarket 555 style. If i can find them, you can have them.
-
Thats an interesting black DayDate dial. Is that orig off a white gold model? Did you spray it to add texture?? I really like it

Want to build Franken Datejust - Question for Stilty
Dizzy replied to Curt941's topic in The Rolex Area
Yeah Ive been using the raffles time brass movement rings. They work perfect for putting ETA2836 into a Rolex case made for 3035. You sometimes have to file down little notches for the movement clips but thats minor work.
