  1. Also this Piaget is gorgeous in my view: http://www.phanfare.com/iphone/#pg=album&dg=10564922%3A6776224%3A-1%3A2014%3A-1%3A1290810 http://cdn-2-service.phanfare.com/images/10564922_6776224_230830885_WebSmall_2/Image-10564922-230830885-2-WebSmall_0_2892e6e2345b1d43cf574280f4238b4b_1
  2. I already tried to introduce here Tim (FatPanda from WatchFinder), TD from RWG next door. I wrote to Nanuq or Mike who correctly addressed me to the Admin. Si I wrote him. After 1 month with no reply I wrote him again. Again no reply (months have passed now). So I gave up. Some fresh blood would be nice for me too...
  3. Dhl is German postal company. So a standard not express DHL is basically a normal postal shipment DHL express is the courier like FEDEX etc.
  4. Lol, I quite often really do that. This made my colleague and friend Lorenzo to start joking me about my watch addiction... Badly
  5. I wouldn't have thought that I would have loved this so much. But I do!!!
  6. With Ryan you will be ok. Feel free to post the QC pics here (don't do that on other forums or they will ban you). Maybe do it into the Rolex dedicated sub forum.
  7. I'm experimenting with a spare (crappy) asian 2836 movement. When it was new and not olied it had an amplitude of around 290° After movement lubrication it went down to 260° max Then I noticed the mainspring was doing a bad noise when manual wound, so I tried to manually (no estrapade) to disassemble, lube and reassemble the mainspring and mainspring barrel. It was very dirty with black residual (maybe some old dried molybdenum paste), and the barrel floor was a quite scratched (probably the reason of the bad noise) and showing a bit of the underneath brass. I washed the barrel, the barrel cover and the spring with degreaser, some paper to remove the old dirt, and finally passed into the ultrasonic machine and distilled water. Then I applied some Moebius 8217 on the barrel wall, some Moebius 8200 on the barrel floor and its cap (the typical cross made with that grease and the black oiler), and finally again some 8200 passed on the spring with a piece of cloth kept in the tweezers. I reassembled the thing and put on timegrapher, just to read a poor 160° amplitude The spring clutch was starting to splip just after like 25 hand wound... I removed all again and recleaned, doind the same treatment and reassembling like before but this time just avoiding the 8217 friction grease: poor performance again, this time up to 205°. The spring, when out of the barrel, looked not bent and was laying flat on the table. Where is the error? Bad greases? Too much of them? ...? Thanks, GenTLe
  8. Uhm, What about the reset cam below the hour gear being loose on the hour shaft?
  9. It can be so many things... it is just impossible to tell from here. And you even didn't put which is the movement of this watch!
  10. 1st, when you remove a movement (before to take it out from the case) always remove the counterweight/rotor. About the hooks, you have to pull these ones in yellow to the outer of the movement: Here once the dial has been taken away: Obviously before you should have removed the hands
  11. Well, let's put it un this way: those values are all fixable, but to do that you need at least a basic timegrapher, a small set of horological screwdrivers and a caseback opening tool. Let's say 250$ minimum of tools, and a minimum of expertise to work on them. So un your clothes I would ask for a new one OR to have it regulated before shipment.
  12. Actually that was my thought too...
  13. Well it's time to get a demagnetizer so. The amplitude oscillation goes in cycles of around 2 minutes, if this can say something more...
  14. Guys, I have a BP factory watch that has a movement (1st one I ever tried to service) that has an oscillating amplitude: it goes from 250 (+8s/d) to 221 (-11s/d). What the heck does this mean? Bad gears that do more resistance in single points? Is it fixable? Thanks, GenTLe
  15. I've already dealt with him a couple of times: good guy indeed. And when he does his "crazy sales" the pieces he has with huge discounts are great!
  16. Onze, you know noooooooooooooooooothing! Give a look to his join date: the chronofag stuff is just less than 1 month old. Funny use of English from the OP anyway: unless you're a pretty bird I seriously doubt that someone will RAPE you because of your Rollie
  17. I'd be mainly worried by crappy 21j movements... That Pam 288 looks good anyway..
  18. Uhm, I already have both (my GMT is the Pro-Hunter but still...) And I'm actually stopped with purchases because few days ago I got the bill of the building company that is refurbishing my house and I can declare I'm poor now... Let us know what's coming from there
  19. Already did He is Angus (PureT) too, so all is the same like on pure-time.com except: 1) prices - you need to ask them the quote, sometimes they are really good. i.e. on a watch which PT shows at 380$ over WS costed me 290$, another one PT 500$, WS 390$, and I mean the SAME watches 2) no guarantee if the watch arrives doa or get confiscated by customs (all the rest is the same: QC pics, run over timegrapher etc) See here: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/175597-3-new-ones-2-of-them-from-angus-very-satisfied/ In my view that solution is good if you are confident to be able to deal with the watch and fix it in case it has some problem (main reason I got 2x ETA 28xx ones and not a chrono).
  20. Definitively. Asian eta based watches, simply time / date ones with steel cases shouldn't be at all paid more than 300$. Simple watches like the latest Tudor Ranger Heritage (time only, no bezel etc) at 320+$ is a robbery... I'm in. But I don't know how to do
  21. Great post! And great necro bump! I have a little crazy too, and I also was curious about the movement structure Thanks! He is not around here since "Last Active Nov 05 2014 12:19 PM", try writing him a PM
  22. Try asking an help to a moderator
  23. Legend, about the "poor boy" surely I can't be considered in a different way, with my 25k/y. But surely I am not poor of spirit Simply, as the majority of the people, regardless my efforts and because of my history, temperament, environment, luck etc, I couldn't find my way into the higher classes. Nevertheless we try to live our lives the best we can, contantly trying to enlarge, if not our income, at least our knowledge:)
  24. Clone? You mean self produced one? Not a Sellita or Valgrandes? If so I have to take out my hat!
