  1. Well, looks like a common bug so My receipt to move further is to try making from just a collecting hobby to something deeper like working on them (i.e. doing my watch service etc). Just hoping not to kill too many of them
  2. Ops... Sorry mate, I've skipped "someone that can" in your post...
  3. Well... Depend where you buy... I'm at my 10th REP and never got one of them... By the way it's not a 4813. It is named Z2xxxxx. Where xxxx is the rest of the name which I don't remember now...
  4. Got mine, new, from Sead, this Monday. It's a very nice one, that pic doesn't give him the justice he deserve...
  5. Black & red looks better, in my view. But it's just my taste.
  6. See here: and here (last one is valid for the Eta clones in the reps) and here: or here: (the small second has been removed in a "naive" way... At least I'd have hacked the seconds!) etc etc... You can find everything, just search.
  7. Brutally copied from a post I did yesterday on the other RWG for a similar question Budget? Quick sweep but don't ask me if they're still all available and/or close to gen... Over 1000$ http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22_359&products_id=6104 I'd stat a bit far from ceramic: women are not as carefully as us and ceramic is delicate... Over 300$ http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35_84&products_id=9076 http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=29&products_id=1306 Over 200$ http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22_361&products_id=2387 http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22_367&products_id=4400 http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=21_207&products_id=6082 http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=29&products_id=5946 http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=384&products_id=8454 http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=21_162&products_id=12248 Over 100$ http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=93_94&products_id=8929 http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=21_172&products_id=12180 http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=32&products_id=2411 And, if she's more sporty and less interested into fashion brands, and also likes mechanical watches, then: http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35_66&products_id=11978 http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35_66&products_id=11979 As general recommendation, if she is not really caring about mechanical watches and/or treating the watches well, I'd go for a quartz movement. Remember to make the watch waterproofed and also remember that with daybyday use SS is better than gold plated ones as the gold layer may fade away in 1 year of even less.
  8. See post #7 here: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/171149-omega-seamaster-po-liquidmetal-from-noob-short-review/?hl=dremel#entry1347803 PS: the sandpaper I use must be dry/wet version and used soaked with water.
  9. Doesn't matter Remember: always ask (to the dealer) if a model is available, regardless it's shown as "in stock" or not shown at all. The web sites are just a display, not fully representative.
  10. Well, just do other 4 posts (not sure if it is meant "new topics" or just "new replies anyway)
  11. You must have at least 5 or 10 post here before. Then go the "More reply option" and you'll be able to do that.
  12. Hi mate. If you are new to this world, please give a look to at least the first 2 posts of the thread linked in my signature. Do it for yourself to spare some headaches
  13. Exactly: one of the subdued rules in the rep market is "keep it simple". For the benefit of the OP: These are basically all the movements around used in the reps: ETA and their clones 2824-2 (28.8kBPH date) ETA and their clones 2836-2 (like the previous but daydate, also used without the day function in many watches) Clones of Valjoux 7750&7753 (the chronos) Sellita SW200 & SW220 (same like the first 2 listed, but Swiss gen, fresh and expensive) Few other smaller Eta (rare) Miyota 9000/9100 (gen Jap, rare) The handwind ones (that I don't know as handwind watches are not for me) And various Ronda or Miyota quartz. These are the high level reps (then there are various 21j for the cheap ones, not worth to mention them). Out of these, there's ~nothing. The factories can't build their own movements, they do something else, but not movements. And the caliber makers can't go for the full reproduction of a ultracomplex mechanism that costs tens of thousands of $ and will fit just 2/3 models: 1st it will require months to get a properly functional one, 2nd they need to purchase the gen to copy it, not an easy ROI (return of investment). Moreover the calibers makers are doing the ETA clones because the patents on them are already gone... A company like Seagull will not do a patented one and then go to sh_t just for creating replicas...
  14. I think I'm not getting what you mean... The subdial @6 has 12, 4, 8 divisions, so it's divided in 3... AAAAAHHHHHH,,,, ok, got it! IT's 3 lines between the long ones the problem!!! Now, finally I got it! So v6 is still wrong. But the v6.5 are ok (and lucky me it's the one I ordered): http://www.torobravos2014.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=34_70&product_id=1092 Ask Toro: I wasn't aware of version 6.5: when I contacted him I simply asked for a RG version complaining for the white date wheel, and he replied me that he had the new one with black DW and the day after on his page these versions 6.5 appeared. Maybe he has the 6.5 for the Ice too, ask him
  15. So that's the reason Toro has the version "6.5"! Which is ok @6: http://www.torobravos2014.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=34_70&page=2
  16. Hi guys, I found very nice tutorials in the "Francisco" area. But also noticed that he is missing from here since 2011... Sad. Anyone knows what happened (if this can be disclosed, obviously)? Thanks, GenTLe
  17. Well, TSWatch is TD on rwg.bz As a general rule: if a watch is available all the TDs (with few exceptions, i.e. don't ask for noob factory ones at Andrew or Josh) can source it.
  18. Ah well, ok I learned to take the watch out always for shower and everything that can soak it. Reasons are that I hate to have a wet bracelet/strap on me and also just to avoid to put any water inside my pieces
  19. Finally someone said it. Thanks mate.
  20. It's a beauty. A real beauty... Around 1000$ gen, with 2824-2 with module from Dubois Dépraz DD 2030, 49j, C3 superluminova, double AR sapphire... And made so that you don't need a monster wrist to wear it (it's 44mm). More info here: http://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/Marine-Officer-Bronze,661.html
  21. Have you also seen these ones? http://gearpatrol.com/2013/11/05/buyers-guide-bronze-watches/2/
  22. Look at the 2 pages here http://www.torobravos2014.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=37_128_129 But ask availability before to pull the trigger
