Welcome to the party dude. Good to you have in the community. Keep the visine out and start buying the generic stuff so you can save for watches! What do you have in mind? Keep us informed! and don't hesitate to ask questions! (even stupid ones
-
seriously... that much for a gen RUBBER strap seems ridiculous..
-
I would say 45.5 and down. My wrist is a hair smaller than 6.5 and I can pull off my UPO with no problems.
-
Sooo... the chrono pushers don't actually physically push in.. they're like touch sensisitive? I'm not sure I get the concept...
-
Wish they made a good rep of this! Everytime I pass the AD i end up staring at the non-chrono version's dial.. it's really intriguing in person.. but alas.. the rep is pretty horrible. and doesn't do the gen dial justice. AT ALL

True it's LSU's colors.. but he didn't have to go as Willy Wonka...

pancakes @Valerian... GTG... maybe we can make it happen this summer!

Really cool pics! IF these guys are all scientists.. i wonder if they really appreciate the watch sitting on their wrists? God knows they could have done the expedition without this rolex on their wrists... it looks kind of unneecessary next to that huge computer thing that looks like it chould shoot lasers.. and AT THE VERY LEAST.. tell the time correctly..

How To: A simple & easy pictoral guide to modding your Sub / SD
plaifender replied to gioarmani's topic in The Rolex Area
Sweet tutorial! very nice work. I asked for a drememl for my b-day.. you think it's better to get a bench grinder instead? The result similar with both? -
Eurotimez and Ptswiss (precious times) both are located in EU. You can contact them about having your watch shiped from within the EU. If you don't specifically ask them, then your watch will come directly drop shipped from china
-
Where are you located? Have you spoken with jesus.. last i heard.. he was a carpenter... haha
-
"Volvo" Ok.. I get it now.... you had said Watchdom before.. and i didn't catch the hidden message! Indeed. I have friends in Lousanne, might be there this spring I know a guy that lives in Bern as well. Maybe we european members (even though i'm not european) should organize a Get together sometime this summer. Maybe paris or something.. With flights being so cheap.. it could be a good time!

Should've gotten the bezel lumed while it was with vac!!! I would never want to part with a watch like that again! It's truly beautiful! I gotta get me one
-
I write as many as I speak... Having lived in 4 countries helps also So you're german!? I thought you were SWISS with your location being "vallee du joux" (which should correctly be spelled) "Vallée DE joux" hehehe (i'm a linguist, so am always correcting people.. it's a bad habbit) p.s. The word is "FOCKER"

ingenieur power reserve just a few hours after dropping it
plaifender replied to simzger's topic in Movement Q&A
Sorry to hear that. I'm not a modder.. but Francisco fixed a low power reserve i had on my Skyland blacksteel.. Now it runs for days. Maybe it's the reversing wheel.. He posted a tutorial on repairing a 2836 movement with low power reserve.. I'd only attempt it if you are comfortable taking it apart... If you haven't gotten your watch serviced.. a full service would get rid of the problem and guarantee that your watch runs for years with no problems -
Don't you worry about that mec.. My arms are BUILT for that kind of stuff
-
Do you mean back from CNY or that before he had gone out of business? I bought my Blacksteel from him several months back(killer price of $260 shipping included).. and never knew he went out of business!

say it ain't so! say it ain't so! You don't know about the gloriousness that is baselworld? It's only the biggest annual watch and jewelry exhibition in the world. Over 2,000 retailers set up elaborate stands and displays to show the world their visions and designs for the new year. This is where all research for new models for the chinese factories begins. It's because of baselworld that we have the Skyland Blacksteel, Cousteau Divers, Rolex DSSD, Sinn, etc.. and other popular models. Baselworld gives forums all over the world the chance to see the latest designs and comment on them, the factories get requests from all over and then a few months later we see the best, and most-called-for designs replicated I just wish I could go this year!!!!! http://www.baselworld.com/

Give me a break TeeJay! The DSSD is only reserved for special ocassions like work and grocery shopping. Sitting on the couch glued to the forum calls for a less-than-daily-beater type of watch. Besides that.. the DSSD is getting a new bracelet since mine is missing the LOGO.. It's coming from greece and i should have it tomorrow. Once it's refinished and polished i'll put it on the watch and I won't be so shy about putting it on my skimpy wrist

"Elvis" @Lani:.. are you Japanese american? I am also. My dad (half black half japanese) grew up in okinawa and luckily was born after all the internment crap that our government put japanese descendants through. My obaachan (I call her obaachima) has told me stories of life before american occupied japan.. and what it was like leading up to the war. I had no idea about the 442nd being the most decorated unit, and always assumed that it was the 106th infantry division involved in dday, market garden, battle of the bulge and the taking of the eagle's nest. Great motto they have. Thanks for the history update.
