What Breitling is this? Saw it at an AD
plaifender replied to wimpie007's topic in The Breitling Area
What a weird bezel! you should go in the AD and ask about it! It looks like some kind of version of the Breitling Emergency. Although I'm not sure. It's definitely weird to see the 15 and on the left and the 45 on the right.... -
Tootbrush with soap is fine as well. Then after cleaning polish it up with some Cape Cod!

I'm no Cartier guy, and not even a dressy watch kind of guy...
plaifender replied to ubiquitous's topic in Other Brands Area
not sure why it intrigues you soo much! It doesn't intrigue me at all.. but that's the beauty of being an individual: you don't have to explain why or why not anything intrigues you! If you like it you like! -
yeah.. it will be called the "ultimate best 1:1 version"

Thanks a lot D! Lani is pretty much responsible for that one. I honestly tried pretty hard for a few days to find a better looking strap with blue stitching for deployant... and ended up having to steal lani's idea... Where the hell is lani anyways???.. it always worries me when he doesn't chime in.. almost as if something were missing....

Mic your evil twin, run some solid-state effects pedals in the loop and call it a day... I agree very much with what RED said. I record and mix all my live audio directly with Adobe Audition. (I grew up editing with premier... so it was a natural progression for me). In the end, the digital effects, although convenient, will never sound good enough to the purists of the industry. A good friend of mine had a line 6 spider, I had a fender twin (1996 model no longer with me ). When we played together there was no comparing the sound of his nice but very digital sound, to the warmth and feel that the twin put out, even if he put his settings to "twin emulation".. it still wasn't quite right. I think it's a good idea that your going back to micing your amps. Put the effects rig in front of your amp and mix directly into whatever program your using. Seems to me that a lot of the unnatural sound in multi-effects plugins and pedals has to do with the amount of digital overcompression that these processors apply to your signal. It's all too easy these days to crank your amp up to 9, throw in a digital effects plug-in or effectsloop and forget about having to worry with things like feedback, squealing from preamp oscilation, overheating tubes and speaker blows. In my opinion driving all those forces to their natural limits is what really creates a unique sounds.. not by emulation and signal suspression. My 2 cents.. -Fender

Absolutely gorgeous. Love the watch, but never been a fan of ferraris. I only wish that this watch had been branded panerai instead of Ferrari by panerai! Otherwise, i would have had it a long time ago. It looks great though. But you're definitely missing the WRSTIE! Wear it well!

Thinking of getting a DSSD but have small wrists
plaifender replied to Jit's topic in The Rolex Area
Indeed, GQ, Vogue, armani and the likes are monitors and indicators of breaking trends in the fashion world in general... the fact remains that small watches have ALWAYS been popular and have gernally been the norm for the last 60 years.(diving watches exempt). I think big watches have muscled their way into the market in a VERY big way and are not a fading trend that will simply go away. I walk by one of the most exclusive and trendy AD's in madrid everday on my way to work and 40+ watches are still dominating the windows.... The day you show me a high end AD that has 90% of it's storefront window filled with watches smaller than 40mm.. I'll accept your theory that big watches are a dying trend.... -
Just ordered this strap.. still waiting for it to come in.. anyone else have this besides blade? It didn't strike me that this strap isn't made for deployant until just now, but looks like there's no problem fitting it with one. (sorry to dig this up from the grave!)

To what barometers of men's style do you refer? (without mentioning Pierce Brosnan or Daniel Craig ) -

Upgrade your membership with raffle ticks
plaifender replied to lanikai's topic in General Discussion
AHHHHHH! this is getting out of hand.. I thought that when I clicked on 'upgrade membership' and saw price for vip $30 and platinumb $70 i never noticed that it didn't say "price" but "BALANCE TO PAY"!! So now i'm really confused. I don't have an abacus and suck at counting. There's no reason for me to have bought those other tickets.... since i originally thought i was getting the platinum membership with them... Um.. So I just bought 6 more tix. If I'm not platinum now.. then i'm just plain dumb. :bangin: -
round of applause for wraithide! Beautiful words man. I think we can all relate to your post. It's funny how time passes.. I remember the "before" very clearly.. Not knowing anything about watches, and just wanting to jump the gun on a scam site.. I ended up stumbling here and now I'm half an expert three years later. Just goes to show how time and dedication to a hobby can give you such self fullfillment especially when looking back. Great to have members like you to remind us all of what started the journey! Greetings from spain, pLai

my wrist is 3/4 of an inch smaller than yours.. and here's what it looks like on my wrist: It's a chunky watch but doesn't wear any bigger than my UPO or pam. I think it looks great -

Ok guys, spoke with Offshore.. he'll hopefullly be speaking with the chinese factories this upcoming week. It'd be a big boost, if anyone could send him a spare 253 or 212 crystal so that he can go ahead with measurements and start checking them against sample crystals. Paulw has voluteered his crystal but is out of town for the moment. We will also need to send another crystal to GZ to get quotes. So we'll need a total of 2 sample crystals sent to Offshore in Australia. Anyone got an extra one they can post ASAP? pm me for his mailing address.
