Great read, and a beautiful watch! The mods really makes it stand out! I have been viewing these Russian Hanhart and Tutima reps for a while. There is one seller on eBay who have them, but there are some variations in quality. Some are with date, and the dial varies. I regret not jumping on one he had a while back, with the correct brushed case.. Thanks for the excellent photos, they are the best I have seen of this rep..Guess iI have to go back to eBay. Interesting stuff! I was hoping that they had included a hour counter for the chronograph. Could not find any information about it when searching on the net.. It seems like the 6 o'clock counter only is following the main hour hand. Seagulls page

I had this exact watch for some months (steel/gold), took it as a part trade for an Eterna Kon Tiki 7750 Chronograph. It is no doubt a stylish well made watch. Very useful with its "Breitling Aerospace" movement and interface. The size is rather small by todays standards and the design is somewhat dated. I gave mine to my mother. Since you bought it new, maybe you have the original box and papers? That will increase the sales value. A search on completed listings on eBay is always useful to give an indication on price. There has been one Titanium/gold version which sold for 610 USD. I guess it prices can be compared with the early Breitling Aerospaces with bracelet, even though I personally think the Omega is better made. Omega has always made excellent bracelets! I consider this model one of the "hidden gems" on the used market. Here is mine:

I have a two watch case from Panatime. It is sized for Panerais, so it does not fit well with smaller watches. It is also a bit bulky The Rolex "service pouch" is a nice, slim inexpensive case for a single watch. For more watches, I actually wrap them up in socks and put them in a small camera lens case or pouch. Two times I have had to unpack it in the airport x-ray machine, though..Guess it looks a bit odd.

These threads are always a good read. My keepers would be: 1. Seamaster Professional "Bond" ca 2005. My first ETA-replica, and was my "offshore-watch" when I worked on oil rigs. It has aquired a nice patina. Maybe the best bracelet ever. 2. Seamaster Professional Chronograph. A good replica. A bit top heavy. It is one of few watches which has grown on me. Better wave pattern on the dial than the regular version. 3. Tag Heuer Carrera CV2010 Chronograph. My overall favorite! Just love the styling and bracelet. ( the one I wear today). 4. Rolex Sea-Dweller. The "best" version of the old type. Well built. 5. Rolex Submariner, Noob. Everybody needs a Sub in their collection. 6. TagHeuer Formula 1 Chronograph Quartz An excellent replica, with same movement as the genuine. Not that often I wear it, but nevertheless a keeper! 7. Breitling SuperOcean XL Best AR of my watches. Solid build. Not a favorite, but its qualities makes it a keeper. 8. Rolex Daytona 6263 Nice watch with the bulletproof ST-18 manual chronograph movement. Low profile and well-balanced. Of my gens, these are keepers 1. Rolex DateJust, 1988. Serviced neo-vintage watch. A classic! 2. Poljot Shturmanskie A True cold war pilot watch. In a line to be sold is Rolex 5517, Breitling Chrono-Matic and IWC Ingenieur

I am playing with the idea of a buying a number of replica DateJusts with a custom dial and engraved caseback. (Something in line with the "Dominos Pizza Air-King, where the logo replaces the text below the hands post). Does anyone have experience with which dealer who can do that, and how much it will cost? I remember "King" did the famous "RWG Collaboration I" watch, but that is a long time ago.

Good looking Air-King! There are some AK-fans out there, and I am one of them. Every time the Air-King theme comes up, I dig up my old photos and tell the story about how the Air-King is more of a true Aviator watch than many Breitlings.. But I will not bore you with that once again. I was looking for a genuine Air-King, but ended up with a Date-Just. They cost about the same, but you get the benefit of a bigger case and date function. A nice watch is it anyway, and one of the long staying Rolex models. This dial version is however not my favorite. I find it strange how the seconds track does not go outwards to the edge of the dial.. It makes the dial look even smaller. Wear it well!

Hello, I welcome that dealers are starting to deliver already modified watches as part of their offerings, however they still have to prove that their products are up to standards. In my mind, if you really like a watch. It is better to buy an Asian chrono version, and then a buy a ETA 7750 from eBay and get Ziggi or somebody else to service it and install it into the watch. You will not save money, but you will get a watch which has the same movement as the gen, is serviced, and have peace of mind for several years. The hunting for a proper movement and waiting for the service/ mods is part of the hobby. Sometimes you can get a good buy on a modified piece in the second-hand store here at RWG. Or, a serviced A7750 will likely serve you quite as well as an ETA, and save you about 500 USD. Just for another note.. check out all the nice genuine vintage Chronos you can get for the price of a replica. Poljot Sthurmanskie, Seiko 6138 and 6139.. Check out ebay. Nothing beats a cool genuine!

Nah.. I prefer the 1994 Lillehammer Olymic Wintergames Seamaster! It was delivered in a box with five leatherstraps in the colors of the Olymoic rings. Quartz only, unfortunately. A7750 layout subdials, used on a quartz-movement.. So you have running seconds@6 on the "0-12" chrono hours counter..? A decent watch, nevertheless.

Interesting development, but I wonder why they not updated the datefont to the new, correct style which is already used on other Breitling replicas..? The Navitimer was once a very good Breitling replica. But it has not been updated during the last two years, so it is no longer up to current standard.

I have bought two silver face Air-Kings from Silix. The first Silver face Air-King picture is of the newest Silver face AK, the others are from older Silix-Air Kings. Unfortunately, I think the older watches are the best... But, It is still about 1,5 years since I bought these.. The newest Air-Kings, I prefer to pass in silence....

Ahh.. The Air-King.. Rolex' understated Aviator watch. The story goes that Rolex manufactured a line of "Air-xxxx" watches, to honor the allied aviators during ww2. There was Air-Lion, Air-Giant and Air-King among others. Air-King sold rather well, so the watch has been in the Rolex lineup since. According to some sources, the most popular watches with the aviators were the rather small, non-chronograph watches. The small size without any protruding pushers was an advantage in the cockpit, where it could be smashed around in the cockpit. As far as I know, the Allied pilots did not have a counterpart to the Big Pilots of the Luftwaffe. I have owned the watch in your link. Silix did have some really good bargain watches in the old days.. I did not like that the minutes-track is inboard from the edge of the dial.. It looked odd to me, I sold it to a forum member. ( S... might chime in, as I know he also is an Air-King fan. ) I am way more happy with my present Blue dial Air-King. Previously, Silix sold another silver dial AK which I found much better. In addition to the minutes track, the "g" in "king" was better.. Some pictures: According to my memory.. This is the one I received from the "new" batch.. The minutes track is way to far away from the edge of the dial.. Also: odd "g".. From the old batch. Good "g" and better minutes track. Blue dial A-K. Way better than the new batch silver dial.
