You are welcome! It is nice to be able to do minor things like that by yourself, feel a bit proud afterwards.

The Grahams are cool, that big "bottle opener" on the side is quite an eyecatcher.. But, I belive there never was a replica with proper Chrono-functions. The Graham replicas are discontinued, as far as I know? Maybe someone knows of a dealer still carrying them?

I fully understand you.. Luckily, it should be easy to uncase the watch and blow away the dirt. If you are not familiar with uncasing a watch, read "Edges guide" here. To blow the lint away, you should have a "blower". It is cheap, and they sell it in most well-sorted camera shops. Good luck!

The TT BCE looks like a very nice watch. Had the Two Tone version came out earlier, I had most likely ordered that.. The gold plating of the newer replicas seems to be very good. There are many genuine Chronomats from the 1990ties with the gold plating on the rider tabs wearing off.. It looks very tatty!

A nice looking rubber strap, I also recived mine from Silix some days ago, some pics here. I tried to wash the rubber strap with some silicone ( a quick polish set for shoes..) It seems to work well, need to see how it works out in the long term though.

Anyone got the new replica 45mm PO rubber strap yet?
chrgod replied to dangerman's topic in The Omega Area
I have received the PO rubber strap in my last shipment from Silix. Some pictures and wristshots in THIS thread. A nice strap, black strap fits well with the black dial and bezel. I discovered that some silicone on the rubber strap makes it less prone to dust. -
Cool cufflinks! Looks as if you have found the right girl. I think I have seen these on eBay.. The movenents are not functional?

Interesting information.. and a very nice vintage GMT-Masters. One of the few vintage Rolexes that are still just affordable. I learn something every day on this forum.

The smaller Carrera watches are very classy looking watches. I belive that the movement in the Twin Time is the same as in Link GMT, based on the 2892? These models cost almost as much as the Chrono-models! A silver ETA would look more accurate behind the display caseback, though.

Very very nice... Is it the "AOPA" wings on the dial?
-
Nice watches.. Is the Oris also a replica?

There has been a few discussions about this.. I don't find the thread I was looking for at the moment, but this thread also describes it well: http://www.rwg.cc/members/Asia-2813-t20772.html Some of the "ETA Copy" movements are in fact Mioyta copies.. Good movements nonetheless.

Congratulations, By-Tor! Party on!

Two more cheap genuines.. I try to convince myself that there are many good vintage genuines out there, which can be bought for the price of a decent rep. I have had mixed success with that strategy: This vintage Tissot Seastar T12 looks very good in pictures. It has a big 44mm case, minimalistic design which reminds a bit of a Panerai. It has a rotatable inner bezel and a 21 jewels Swiss movement. Quite weird way to quickset the date.. Nice watch, but in real life the print on the dial was poor.. And the relume of the triangle was porly done. I ended up selling it, for a little more than I bought it for. This Girard-Perregaux is a keeper! It has the 17 jewels "Gyromatic" movement, cool metallic brown and blue dial and a well made integrated bracelet. The caseback is screwed in with a waterproofing ring and the whole watch has a quality feel to it.

Some more watches have joined the crowd. I have got my first genuine Breitling. It is the no-so-legendary- Navitimer Quartz 3100, from 1991. Still, it is a true toolwatch and the father of todays Airwolf and Aerospace.. Its functions are true early 1990ties, a concept I remember well from my schooldays. The movement in this watch was shared with some high-end Pulsars. I bought the watch with a damaged display, managed to find the right Pulsar and swapped movement, and Breitling Bridge as well. Here it is next to my Chronomat Evolution: My two vintage mechanical chronograps are still running strong. The Heuer Carrera has not caught on as I had expected. It is somewhat dull, despite a cool movement, great brand name and design... Originally, it supports a 18mm strap which is too thin by todays standard, so I have squeezed on a 20mm peforated strap. It looks better... The Speedmaster Mark II is still one of my favourites! They are of similar vintage, and as you can see they share the "pllow" casedesign. An interesting note is that the Heuer has date, but no running seconds.. The Speedy has running seconds, but no date! When they were new they cost about the same. On the used market, the Heuer Carrera is a little bit more expensive.

That's is a nice one! 45.5mm case, power reserve indicator and display caseback... Thanks for the info!

Breitling Chronomat Evolution, History and Review
chrgod replied to chrgod's topic in The Breitling Area
Thanks for all the nice comments, guys! Nice watch, Jawo. That is the Mark I edition of the Evolution, with darker hands and different datefont. Looks like the subdials on yours have a more silvery finish also, compared to mine. Cool. I considered to have a picture of that version in my review, but obmitted it to keep a text/picture balance.. Since you have the same white dial version as me, I would like to use your picture for a side-by-side comparison in my review? ( PM sent) Another interesting thing is that yours are missing the tiny minute marker close to the "10" on the 12 o'clock subdial. I remember that this was one of the last issues that a forum member pointed out to PT, just before the final go of the "Ultimate BCE".. Here is another view of mine, to compare with yours: In an update to this post, I would say that the watch has received more wristtime than I had expected.. It is an amazing watch, and feels very solid. By the way.. My four years old niece are asthonished by my watch, and I have now learnt her how to spell Breitling... -
Awesome! I love the electric blue dial.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.. I bought my SMP from Silix two years ago, and got the good version. Although by today standards it is not "Ultimate PO" quality. Non-existing wave-pattern and slightly poor finish on the crown. Nonetheless it is still one of my favourites, and the watch that sparked my interest. You can always try Ruby. She has the good version in her gallery, and you will get emailed pictures of the actual watch before she ships it to you.

TRC = www.replicacollector.com I know it has been discussed wheather it is dangerous to draw attention to "the other board" in here... but I take the chance, inorder to help out a newbie.

Scheisse! Well, I remember the old Photogallery over at RWG1, where people posted what they "had paid" for their watches or what they " thought it was worth" . Quite stupid..

Review of my Vacheron Constantin 31 Days Retrograding Calendar
chrgod replied to Pix's topic in Other Brands Area
Very good review, and a nice watch. I have been watching these Vahcerons and Pateks lately, some with moonphase.. Classy pieces! -
Congratulations! I have always liked multi-functional quartz'es like the B-1, Omega Speedmaster X-33 and the Tissot T-touch. As you say, there will never be a good replica of it. To many watch-geeks, the B-1 is a better looker than its successor, the Airwolf. By the way, I have the grandfather of the B-1, a 1991 Navitimer quartz 3100... Here it is, next to my BCE!

Both watches are really great, my ultimate 45mm PO feels even better quality than the SMP. As an attention grabber, the sheer size of the PO makes the day. :-) The SMP chrono is also an interesting watch, with a busy design that stands out.. Personally, I find it a bit too tall on the wrist. But, for some reason the regular SMP is the one I use most, especially when I am on work offshore and does a bit of manual work.. It just feels right for every occasion! Whatever you chose of these models, you can't go wrong!

Excellent! It is projects and helpful members like this, that keep this great community going! I really look forward to this, if it goes through. Even though I am an Engineer, I have not yet joined the Ingenieur crowd and that datewheel project, but I sure am in for Breitling datewheels!
