  1. Here's the dial - I need to shave (open) the date-window a little bit and align it better... The Yuki dial was fatter thicker than genuine Rolex dial that was in place.
  2. Gen 1603 - Yuki Green Dial to make things interesting... will need to shave dial date window and realign a bit.
  3. Spot on...100% I wish Persol fit on my head... I've been wearing MJ's for years!
  4. Now that is really gorgeous!!
  5. Yuki Green Dial on Genuine Rolex Datejust 1603
  6. Hello all - this late 60's early 70's Datejust 1603 has been in the family 3 generations now. It had the standard silver face, classic yes, but boring and hard to read at a glance with the silver/silver/silver (stainless steel) design. So I stuck a Yuki Green face on it. I also had my watchmaker overhaul the 1570 movement as it was starting to suck, and open opening the watch and reading the caseback we realized it had been 11 years since he'd last had it on the bench... oops. The Yuki Green pie-pan isn't a perfect fit by any regard, but it's like a $120 dial... does the business and looks funky. It's a bit thicker than the genuine Rolex dial, and the date-window isn't perfect, but it's close enough.
  7. My friends TC changes date at noon... haha, other than that, it's a great watch.
  8. Again....gorgeous! I'd love to get my hands on one of these
  9. I have one... check out my sale thread - genuine - good price Sale thread
  10. This is turning into fail, and back-door selling. OP - if you won't sponsor the forum and play by the rules to properly sell your watch because you seem above it... then to that, I say "take a hike." Frankly, pulling the soldier card so wantonly is kind of a jerk move as well. Can we get a mod in here to shut this down?
  11. If you ever decide to sell either of these, please let me know.
  12. Ahhh you bastard, I thought this was a for-sale thread for a second and got all excited! haha just kidding, GORGEOUS watch!! Great job. Really, really depressed about what happened to him, and sad that he's not recovered.
  13. Gotta join up, tag your pics and post in proper thread man, if you price it right it should go fast. Nice piece.
  14. Thank you! Variety is the spice of life I have friends that wear the exact same wristwatch, be it genuine, Timex, Rolex or Breitling,.. and they're always amazed when I sometimes switch watches 2-3x a day.
  15. Here's what is currently in rotation, winder pun intended... there's a few pieces missing either retired or on-lend. (forgive the crappy iPhone pic, didn't feel like getting out the big Canon)
  16. Guys just work it out - you should've reached out to a mod in private first Euphorical....actually, first off you should never have bought a watch with missing serials that is a "gen" let alone shaved off... foolish... If you couldn't see it in the pics or it couldn't be accurately described, run away...
  17. Nice dude! The bevels and crown really help. I love mine, and the work that DBane! Wear it well
  18. In-house movements is where it's at... everything/anything else is a rip-off if it's over a threshold of say $1,500 unless there's some crazy decoration or whatever / gold etc... even then, you are buying a timepiece, and to me the beating heart matters most.
