  1. Great stuff here... And I just love Daytonas on a woman's wrist!
  2. Hey if dealers are in a position to be turning away customers who don't follow their QC picture privacy rules, well then more power to 'em. The types of pieces I generally go after have plenty of QC pics for all to see in the Buy&Sell forum, as well as elsewhere on the internets. Interesting info, nonetheless.
  3. Well these A7750 movements often need servicing right off the bat, but in this case you should contact Andrew and explain the problem. I'll bet he'll take care of you for little to no cost.
  4. I think it looks pretty darn good.... But... wokkishness! Love it. I'd love to see the reaction of a complete stranger reading that comment.
  5. R... You want to use a large piece of black construction paper strategically placed to block the reflection. Examples: Here I used a round piece of black paper, and intentionally let a small moon shaped reflection through on the right side of the crystal. I was actually holding the black paper in my right hand while using my left hand to press the cable actuated shutter: Here I completely blocked all reflections with the black cardboard:
  6. Great, Randy! I realize I totally flaked on sending mine out to you now... but it sure looks like you didn't need it for inspiration!
  7. I also caution against. I've known a couple people who have had one. Reliability is non-existent. Something was always going wrong, and it was annoying things... Like the AC would blow heat in to the car instead of AC. Lots of time spent for the owners taking them in and getting things fixed.
  8. No trades... And that is correct. I bought one a couple years ago for right around that price. $400 to $500 as I recall. Definitely no more than that.

  10. I do have one AD that is super anal about parts. They have an authorized service guy on site, and pretty much all parts orders go through him. I got a set of end links out of him once, but he was incredibly difficult to convince and very uncomfortable handing them over without seeing the watch. Then another well-known jewelry store who is also an AD, but without on-site service, was willing to take my money for just about anything. All transactions went through the regular sales floor associates there.
  11. LOL.... and how do we suppose the price came down? That is an expensive chunk of sapphire. Mineral is much cheaper. Be glad they're not passing it off as sapphire, and are offering it at a lower price.
  12. My local AD will be glad to order any bracelet you want, no questions asked. Call around.
  13. I like the sound of this! Time heals all ailments, doesn't it. Welcome back.
  14. Love the porcelain Zenith dial and MkI bezel - the cost premium, though, is tough to swallow. I've always wanted a silver dial 6265 though....
  15. Welcome home, George! Don't be a stranger 'round here!
  16. Very tough act to follow, JoJo... But here's the one I've been wearing daily for quite some time. I love this watch. I'm actually considering selling off a good part of my collection because I just don't wear it anymore! At this point it seems like the only thing that can keep this one off my wrist would be ... another Daytona!
  17. Glad to see this one coming along, R! Keep the pics a comin' !
  18. Nobody. No one person, that is. The community as a whole is top notch, and it takes everyone being a part and contributing to make it so.
  19. No. Do some research.
  20. OK I heard from a buddy that the target price was to be $300... but just looking at the parts list and adding up the cost, I don't think $300 is achievable. Will be interesting to see.
  21. 585s are ridiculously priced. And $250 actually aint bad. I've found, however, if you can buy the entire bracelet with 585s then the premium is quite as high. YMMV
  22. Has anyone figured out how much this thing is? The buy online button doesn't do anything for me.
