I'd leave it to an expert...not sure what your level of expertise is but if it's sentimental the last thing you want to do is accidentally screw something up...
Lani,
Congrats on the new Gen!! Can't wait to see pictures
I've sent a LOT via PayPal...I'm pretty sure there's a $2,500 limit unless you're considered a "Business" customer and even then I think you need to provide documentation... Most I've ever sent was 5 installments each @ the limit...
Anything else I either wire transfer or send via American Express directly...
@ FF- Looks great on the Bond bracelet
@F5- that's very true...the Gen really does have a noticeably richer feel
@KB- Thanks Ken, that means a lot coming from you!!!
Josh and Andrew have them- pricier though... Homer's is the best bang for the buck (unless member DVN has sold the two he was selling in the trade section earlier)
Most likely a monocoque case...the crystal basically needs to be squeezed and lifted and it'll come off... force is applied to the crown with a lever-like tool and it'll come out...then you flip over the watch and out comes the movement...it was the water resistance of the 50s and 60s... one of my vintage Omegas has the same system...pain in the ass.

Scroll down and the technical aspects of the case are there...
Hope this helps and enjoy your new piece!
I've never had an issue and I've owned three...generally they run within 2-10 seconds per day...my watchmaker adjusted my latest one and it easily meets COSC..especially (and as expected) when it's in the crown up/crown down position...I've banged my latest one on the doorjamb quite a few times by accident and scooting around people at parties/ at bars and have never had an issue... the Tourbillon mechanism appears to be very well manufactured and quite robust but that's just my opinion.
It depends on the watch, seller, and plating level... I've never had issues with reps and gold unless it's on the bracelet (which is constantly rubbing skin, etc)... Homer's RG Tourbillon is a great buy and the plating seems to be holding up really, really well on it.
Oh my smile was sarcastic vis a vis the sweeping generalization...but hey...
And Robbie, isn't the Porsche you brought of Jetmid's housekeeper's dog made of solid platinum and painted black? How does it handle with the extra weight?
