  1. LOL... I was talking about Watchoutlet FAQ... http://watchoutlet01.com/faques/faqs/index/
  2. A bit OT... @mead861 Sorry I can't help you... but you can help me... That case and bezel are gen? If not where can I get them? Thank you!
  3. "One in a hundred"? I'd say thousand at least... I've never seen a gen Patek Philippe in my whole life. Maybe because I'm not in the Jet Set but I think it's the same for 99.9 % of people living on earth.
  4. I'd a look at the BP 5227... Toro and InTime are using a white background for their picture... there you may compare the dial color with the background... It doesn't seem "pure white" to me... (BTW, the rose gold version is a real beauty...)
  5. As a photographer I could say that you couldn't rely on a picture... the white balance could be off, hence the white in the picture may be warmer (shift to yellow) or colder (shift to blue). Nobody knows how they (the dealers) take the pictures (believe me, it is not easy to get a "real" neutral white balance)
  6. Indeed... If I compare it with my gen Rolex 1601 I can't see much difference... Furthermore, the watch looks much better in the real life than in the pictures...
  7. Lovely album and lovely band... Shadow Gallery - Vow (from the album Room V)
  8. Many thanks jmb! I think my build will be made by what I can find on the market... modding is not my goal, I don't have any tool nor much time and, most of all, not enough knowledge to what to do and why (Coupling guard size and shape? Hands size and/or colour?...) But I like to think how to mix dials and hands to make a watch (MY watch) that I can proudly wear...
  9. Hello all, I'm going to show you my first build (or, better...assembly) that has been very easy (only effort was to source the parts) and very rewarding... Googling for watch parts I stumbled in "Raffles Dials" that has some ice cases and dials and hands (I say "some" because some sellers have a larger choice...) The price was right (cheap) and the quality was looking good (even a good picture can't tell anything about the "feel" of a well polished case or the "real life" detail of a dial...) so I pulled the trigger for : 1) TUDOR SIGNED VINTAGE STYLE OF 34MM STAINLESS STEEL PRINCE WATCH CASE WITH SMOOTH BEZEL AND 19MM LUGS SIZE FIT ETA 2824 MOVEMENT (First pic) 2) 27MM SILVER DIAL MARKED TUDOR LOGO WITH SILVER STICKS AND DATE WINDOW FIT ETA 2836 OR 2824 MOVEMENT FOR MENS STEEL PRINCE DATE WATCH (2nd pic) 3) ONE SET OF SILVER TUDOR PRINCE WATCH HANDS WITH LUMINOVA FIT ETA 2836 OR 2824 FOR MENS 34MM WATCH (3rd pic) As said before the price was good as I paid the whole set a little less than 81 USD... (with a little discount from Ken) But I was still in the need of a movement... Since I don't like the look of the cheaper Asian 2824 I went for a better look clone (although the solid case back)... Look at the pics #5... isn't it a beauty? That was 87 USD shipped (bought on eBay)... Now what? I can't assemble the watch myself! (Never done before and I have no tools at all!) Solution? : Bring the whole package to the Watchsmith... He said it was a very easy task (everything were fitting and there was no needs for additional spare parts...) and he was asking a very little money so I bought a nice Blue Croc Strap (Morellato) from him. The Pics from 6 to 12 show the final result... It looks a really nice watch although a minor flaw... (the date window is a bit off center) All in all it has been funny to choose the dial, the bezel, the movement... I will do it again (..next time it will be SS and Gold...) Thank you for reading this and thank you Ken (RafflesDials)... You have acquired another happy customer! P.S. Sorry, I don't know how post pictures between the text lines...
  10. With Watchoutlet you get no help for a packet seizure nor warranty on the watch... that's why it's cheaper... (Read the FAQ)
  11. Ha! I wish I could learn more Gaelic... but not even them use that lovely language... (For those who are guessing... Mo chara = My friend... Craic = Entertainment/Show... Slainte = Cheers while drinking) Speaking of Irish music and craic...(although the origin of the song is Canadian)
  12. Johnny is a great fan of Rory Gallagher... I've been in Ballyshannon with them (the Boxtie)... great gig in the small and beautiful Fin Mc Cool's... Here is a pic of me with Barry Britton (Rossnowlagh' artist and surfer) and his brother in the Pub (mmmhh... 15 years ago?) Slainte!
  13. @Sogeha Where are you located? I have some very good friends in Bundoran Co. Donegal Here they are...
  14. Italian Prog... PFM Live... (Flavio Premoli sports a Patek Philippe Nautilus...)
  15. I'm the inexperienced one and I like the long serving members help... Nice to be here. Thank you guys.
  16. Any source for watch parts is always welcome! Which size the dial should be? (Yuki SD dial is 28mm... correct?)
  17. Hello all, I just bought a Tudor Prince case/dial/hands/glass/crown from Raflles Dials and a 2824 clone to built my own Prince... I won't go for a bracelet, in this build I much prefer a leather band... My question is : where can I buy a SS Tudor buckle? I don't want to spend a grand (found on eBay at 79€...) since the whole watch costed me 160€... Any suggestion? Any member has a spare one? Thank you!
  18. I don't think so... but they have very similar size (the thickness is 5.2mm for the 2846 vs. 5.4mm for FHF 905... the other size are the same) Furthermore the 2846 is a day-date whereas the FHF 905 is date only (there are some 2846 variants without the day wheel) My interest was to see where I could fit these movement (in which case)... Edit: the stem height is different... 1.9mm for FHF vs 2.25mm for ETA
  19. Interesting thread... I just bough a watch only to rip off his 2846...
  20. Maybe it's obvious for you (experts) but since I'm a noob I have a question : why the swap of the seconds hand? Thank you!
  21. I have a huge collection of vynil (I started in the early 70's) but I listen to them less and less... Today I listen mainly to CDs via DVD player/ Amp/ Speakers... (small size bookshelf...) I've been the "Stanton-Thorens-Marantz-AR" geek but no more... When I have some new name/album to check I look for help on YouTube... then if the album is good I buy the CD on eBay (often at a very low cost...)
  22. Three in a row... Karmakanic - Who's the boss in the factory? / Flower Kings - Desolation Rose / Happy the Man - Crafty Hands...
  23. You named some of my all time fav band (soft spot for Jethro Tull... Bursting Out is one of the best live album ever) ... I have only two albums of Focus...Moving Waves (where Hocus Pocus came from) and III... I quite like them although they are more Rock oriented (less Symphonic than Yes and Genesis...) Folk Rock? Renaissance.
  24. Usually I listen to British Prog Rock (Classic 70's as Genesis, Gentle Giant, Yes, King Crimson... but also Neo Prog as Marillion,IQ...) but some US bands do a very good job... just like ILUVATAR....
