  1. That bites!! The watches are actually LordRasta's. The Senna Link is a great looking watch. I love the green...and with the AR...ka-ching!!
  2. I'm not so sure about that Dave. There are many like me who find the Skyland is about as big as they can go...so the Skyland BS is about as big as they can go. The SA BS is that much of a bigger watch to make it a piece for a different audience I think.
  3. Very nice. It has a great dreamy feel to it. It looks great in the trilogy pic in your sig!!
  4. The bezel is an expensive upgrade just to move the pearl up 0.5mm. I'm wearing mine now in fact...and it really is a great rep. I did the tube crown and datewheel upgrade...as well as had the orange hands painted to match the orange ticks on the chapter ring of the dial...well...actually the The Zigmeister-meister did this without my asking. I didn't notice the difference...but when he pointed it out...I can't take my eyes off it when I look at it. That's the thing with reps and this forum...when you learn about shortcomings on the reps...it's so easy to focus on them...and forget about how close the pieces are in reality.
  5. The tools listed above will work with all but the screw on ones like some PAMs which require a screwdriver...or some other watches like IWC ATs which need 2 tools...or a tool and a toothpick or whatever you can figure out.
  6. That has nothing to do with the watches though R...and everything to do about the pot shots!!
  7. Great stuff...it almost looked like Robbie was there with the UN GMT and MMD!!
  8. ...IT MOVED!!! Crap...if I hadn't just ordered my Noobmariner...I would snipe the pants off of all of you!!!
  9. I love it. This is anothre great looking Seamaster. If the standard blue SMP Chrono is any indicator of the quality on this one...it's tops!! This is a great looking watch...and even with the flaws, a nice variant with the tricompax layout to the black version of the older blue SMP300. Thanks for writing this up. A great Omega post indeed!!
  10. I was extra careful with mine...eventually the threads still stripped. Read my SMP Chrono review linked in my signature for information on upgrading to the gen crown and tube and about the issue in general.
  11. A-Men Brother Latex Fetish!! I repeat this every morning before I pick my watch. I posted something similar HERE.
  12. Very nice collection. I have to get a box!!
  13. Watchstation Peter has been excellent for me. Highly recommended.
  14. I don't have experience with that particular model...but if you search for Super Avenger posts by a member named Dave123, you can compare the pics in the TT site with his gen and determine for yourself whether it's close enough for you. The fact of the matter is, almost all reps to the "right" eye can be determined to be fake or gen. Usually most people in the wild who say something is fake don't really know and are making up some crap to feel important. The big tell on this cheaper BR, is that the chrono dials aren't accurate to the gen. The chronos may be operational...but the cheap A21j chrono movements do not function the same as an a7750 based watch like the more expensive SA...this can be spotted fairly quickly by anyone who knows their watches...but remember...99.9999% of the world does NOT know their watches. The layout should be running seconds at the 9-o-clock position, chrono seconds using the centre seconds hand, and minute totalizer at 12 and hour totalizer at 6. As well, the date font is wrong, subdial spacing is off because of the different movement, number layout is different...again because of the movement, etc, etc. Verdict? Is it an accurate rep? Not really. One main thing being off (movement) changes a LOT of things for accuracy. Is it a nice watch? Sure...and cheap...but I wouldn't try passing it off as a gen...I wouldn't do that even with the higher end one either...but this one can be called out more readily. Welcome to the forum...read the Noob Guide in my signature and there is a link in their to a guide on the best watches under $150. Try that!!
  15. Excellent write-up. Thanks so much for the time and effort. This is really a great watch at a great price.
  16. Or...if you've had a history of asking too many questions without getting work done...or had appointments that you skipped...you may be on his blocked list.
  17. Whey buy from a place that looks to use gen pictures and describe their watches as hybrid replicas with Swiss grade cases? Huh? Their prices are about 1.8x higher than the dealers on this board...have no reputation you can cross check against...bogus quote reviews... Hmmm...
  18. Wait a bit...relax...don't worry about it until some time down the line has passed!! I liken it to this question...if you had a young kid who suddenly got sick and your partner was out of town...would you worry about watches for the weekend...or would you make sure your kid was alright? Obviously the latter...but you would do your best to address other obligations...but only after you've had chance to get past a crisis phase...or an extended weekend plan or whatever.
  19. Ok...I see where you're coming from. In that respect...interesting idea. I laugh primarily at the marketing dribble that was contained in the description. Not untypical for any luxury brand description...but humorous nonetheless...all fluff no substance. I would suspect that the rotor acts similarly to a Seiko Kinetic system where it's essentially used to generate electricity which is stored in micro-capacitors...and that allows the phone longer life perhaps...or some function for address books when the battery is dead or whatever. It is haute couture work essentially. In that respect I can respect it. i.e. not made for general consumption (or use for that matter). I made the mistake of jumping the gun on the kitzch conclusion as I rarely think of electronics with a technical lifespan of 2 years in the realm haute couture...which totally DOESN'T make sense I know given haute couture "vogueness" shifts 4 seasons a year...8x the rate of a cell phone!!!
  20. Give the person some time. You can't expect the person to devote his life to the transaction and run back immediately to give updates. It's like the Bay...you make your purchase...pay...and wait. Sometimes the package arrives before you hear back from the person...other times it can take a bit of time. If the person is a long standing member...with good posting history...and maybe some transaction reviews that are good...I would feel confident. Remember...just because they are a platinum member...doesn't mean anything necessarily...all it takes to get this status is $10 USD a month. If you know they got this status because of a significant contribution to the forum...that would make me feel more confident. Wait until at least Mon/Tues for an update...it's the weekend...maybe they went out of town yesterday after work...and might not be back in town until Tues. I've waited close to 3 months for stuff to arrive...knowing full well it would arrive because the seller was solid.
  21. It depends on your strap/bracelet. The Breits for the most part use a fork: big fork for leather, small fork for bracelet. I use a cheaper version of the Bergeon Spring Bar Tool #6111...which has flippable tips to move from big fork, little fork, and pin. I also have a little Horotec casing pad to put the watch on crystal down without scratching anything. You can try Ofrei, Borel or International Watchman has an Anchor brand tool that works...but I'm not sure if it has the small fork...send them an email.
  22. It's doable. Search for movement upgrading posts by The Zigmeister...he explains how. In fact, I think I linked one of them in my Noob Guide linked in my signature.
  23. To wind watch...surf internet porn...watch will eventually wind...
  24. ...as much as the man looks "Hef" in his pajamas...I would have to say this might be a little too gauche even for Southern Florida!!
