Pheeew!! I was hoping you weren't going to get even more frustrated with this one. Yup...definitely one best left to the dealer to sort out. No sense in outing them until they've at least had a chance to rectify things.

They're pretty different watches. The SD doesn't have the classic cyclops...and the Sub is the new one so has the cyclops and the ceramic bezel and the fat CG's. Personally, I like the SSD. It has it's inaccuracies (font on the bezel is a bit off, usual rep pearl sucks generally) but the weight of the SD compared with the gen is more to my liking. Subs (even the new ones) feel a bit light for me for the most part. If I want light, I'll go with a DJ for the most part. If you like the ceramic bezel, look for the GMT II...nice!!

I've seen some shipments from USA to Canada take 2 weeks...yes, that's slow and there's no logic to it.

I don't know if I would say one is more accurate than the other. They each have their flaws...but IMHO they are all so minor they generally require magnification and/or side-by-side comparison to see the differences that either one is good to go (e.g. V3 has better bezel font, but V2 has better positioning of the printing, "B" stamping vs. engraving that can't be seen without a lupe given the letter is about 1mm in size and in a location that nobody would even know it was there except a Breitling afficionado).

Are you talking the crown and stem to remove the movement???

The easy tells for most are that a chrono at that price will either be quartz which will have likely (but not necessarily) tighter subdial spacing (closer together subdials) with the seconds hand moving like a quartz watch (not smooth sweeping). An Asian 21j with working chronos will have 2 subdials with "60" counters or will have the wrong subdial printing because the a21j doesn't operate like an a7750 movement. Some of them are still fine though. I would recommend going for a non-chrono if you can for that money as there are some decent higher end reps at that price in the non-chrono variety than chrono reps at that price.

Ditto. BTW...the HBB is an A7750 movement...just a tricompax layout mod to the base A7750...good...but you have to get it serviced if you want to KNOW it will last.

I think the pics make the hands and marker borders look black...but in fact everything is silver. Go to the Rolex site and you'll see it's all silver...better yet, go to an AD and check the thing out in person.

Lume jobs are difficult at the best of times. If you lume just the dial, the lume will stand out so much from the parts not relumed (i.e. hands and rotating bezel). The difficulty with lume jobs is learning to paint using a lupe, as well as learning the medium you are painting with (i.e. the lume itself). Working the consistency to what you want and the sheen (matte or gloss) is a personal preference and will take some practice. If this is your first lume job, I would suggest working on something else first to at least try it before you work on what I think is one of the nicest reps around. The Zigmeister's work on my CD is amazing and is pictured in his post on a fairly recent thread (active as of today) you can find with a little searching...can't remember which section. Good luck.

Sorry...you missed...the ball melted before it got here. It was 32C air temperature yesterday, adjusted to 38C with humidity.

I have 3-4 movements for this one...and the rotor doesn't work properly for any of them. I've just run mine with the winder, and ordered 3 spare movements to do swaps on it. At the price of the watch, it wasn't worth fighting for a replacement...and the watch is still fun.
