  1. I'm not sure on a DSSD, but on the Sub and SSD bezels, I just used my fingernail to pop them off, and glued it back in with marine grade epoxy.
  2. Hey A, 5 years unserviced is awesome!!! I think you should stick it on a mantel and get a new one without desk driving scuffs.
  3. That's so awesome!!! Excellent stuff indeed.
  4. Me being a usual John Do actually like this one: I know it's the wrong size (40mm), symmetrical pusher, I THINK the subdial spacing is too wide because of the Seagull movement, the ROC is bit too heavy, some probably find the "tritium" dots too yellow (I don't mind that), and the crown is too large...but hey...how many people do you know of have come across a $50,000 vintage 6263? I like the movement (solid and reliable). The Spinmaster one is nice...but 3x the price.
  5. Very cool. I can see the fit and finish differences in your pic...but like you said $600 vs. $45,000....hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
  6. Remember though...that switching from 2813's is not straight forward as the hands will not all fit, the dials will have have to have their feet cut off and then taped to the Swiss movement, and new datewheels obtained.
  7. Congrats to the winner...another fun round.
  8. Did somebody need my mailing address to send me my new watch?
  9. Man...if my phone could take pics like that. Wow. I think the second pic is the better of the first 2 because of the clearer dial, but the lighting on your arm is better in the first pic. But hey...we're all about the watch and not the arm right? Hah hah. I think the third one cropped and zoomed in would look pretty good too. My phone SUCKS for photos like this...actually all photos. I love this watch...but I'm afraid of the gmt modded 2836.
  10. All your pics are stunning as always.
  11. I have many colleagues who have done the program, and the results are excellent. There are 2 main roadblocks to any exercise program: - Diet - Motivation The diet for the P90X program is geared towards progression in the program...so as others have said, change the diet and YMMV as an uncontrolled variable. More importantly, motivation to continue in any program is one of the hardest things to maintain, and that is one of the strengths of the P90X program - variety and the FEELING of results. By doing the different components, it keeps things interesting, and helps work weak points in such a fashion that you start feeling results all round, and that should fuel the desire to continue. If somebody does 1-2 hrs of intense workout everyday with a careful diet, it doesn't matter what the program is, they will get some form of results. With P90x, you're working all muscle groups as well as endurance, flexibility, balance, agility, etc so you keep motivated to stick with it.
  12. Great shots of great watches folks.
  13. I think know your drive to experiment, you would have more fun on a 1655 project than merely unpolishing a IIc. It wouldn't fill the void as well for a "smart" watch that the polish of the IIc would give, but if you take away the shine, you end up in the same spot anyways...so you might as well have fun with a project you would enjoy more.
  14. Bump. Get those tix folks...I want a new watch on my wrist by the end of the month.
  15. That is so awesome. Everytime I see these posts I want to run back up there. Amazing B!! I wish the Scout troops here did 1/10 the stuff you can up there.
  16. Welcome aboard...and don't feel bad about either being a Noob or getting called one. We're all noobs in some respect or another...just less so in others.
  17. Just got back from vacation to another fun raffle. Awesome. I'm in.
  18. Search for my review on the 2006 CD...the link in my sig is busted and I haven't had time to fix it...it's amazing I think...and I disagree with your topic title: EVERYONE needs aquatimer. The new ones look nice, but there was a review I read that said the quality of manufacturing was below par...so better to stick with the 2006, 2007 or even the 2008 depending on your style preference.
  19. I would consider getting a real croc Breitling style strap from The Watch Boys. Very reasonably priced, well built and will fit the deployment. The Gen deployment and croc strap from an AD cost around $600 - $700 CDN if memory serves me..which is why they'll gladly order you one even without the watch in hand. AR from Chieftang...no other option worth considering...better than OEM.
  20. The 2006 is a dark blue. I find I wear it with quite a bit. It's a fantastic watch. You could get a black strap I suppose, but the blue does tie the piece together. I don't find it as blue as you would think. The Slevin is nice, but I like the added detail of the extra ring of numbers of the CD...makes it seem more "the business" instead of "missing something". The 2008 is great, but very sporty looking and much less versatile IMHO. There was a review of one recently that seemed to indicate the build quality wasn't the greatest.
  21. I would recommend a Timex Ironman. I used to do a lot of climbing...and the timing functions and alarm are essential for travel, alpine starts, timing speed ascents, etc. A metal watch will get scratched to bits, so the rubber and plastic combo works well to resist damage...and it's light. I would not want a big B&R on my wrist climbing, given how many times I've had to use my forearm for holds chimneying, or face climbing for support. I usually just velcro the watch to my harness.
  22. Hey T...I'm running IE6 sp3 and had problems with the orange skin: 15+ seconds to load the front page Shoutbox wasn't working...Shouts weren't showing up No navigation capability for moving on to additional pages of posts and topics The blue skin is working fine for me now. Thanks.
