Surfer, I'm very sorry to hear of you and your wife's loss. Amazing how much a part of our lives these guys become isn't it? Your english is fine and more than conveys how much he meant to you guys. He'll live on in your memories forever. Hope that he is now in a better place and running around and playing with his friend that went before him.

I'd have to go with the Skyland. It's right smack in the middle of your budget and from the pics I've seen it looks great.

Guess we know where your priorities lie. I can see it now. Yeah a bunch stuff fell on the cars in the garage and damaged them. Everything fell off the walls and shelves and broke. The plasma TV fell over and broke but the watches are all okay. Lol. Have been out there before but never during a quake. Must be something to go through one.

I've got two of them. A black 26mm and a honey 24mm. Also have a couple SC straps in leather as well. They are probably the nicest straps that I've bought with the exception of my GSD Crazy Horse straps. They are about the thickest straps that I've seen. I have a 7 1/4" wrist if that helps at all with deciding if they would fit or not.

I have both of these old factory peices but I agree that they need to do another run. There are alot of members on all three forums that want these and quite a few that had them and sold them but wouldn't think twice about getting another.

Exactly where do you find cheap 2893-2's these days?? I picked up a Steinhart Ocean-1 with a 2893-2 in it a few months ago and it was $320 on the bay and that was a pretty decent deal as I've seen them for $100 or 200 more. Not sure if anyone even sells new in the package 2893-2 mvts anymore.

The Steinhart/Debaufre Ocean-1 GMT's that you linked to can sometimes be found on the bay for less than 400. I got one for about 320 shipped a couple months ago and about a month ago there was one that went for the same price. Also keep an eye out for a Philip Panama GMT as that makes a good donor watch as well. There are a couple others but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

That's not a bad deal @ 300 each for those Steinharts. I picked one up for just a little over 300 about 4 months ago to tuck away for an 063 project. It would probably be worth trying to grab all four. I'd walk in with cash and try to talk them down a bit if you take all four.
