  1. For those on the fence about this watch, repgeek member dtan888 has a review with some nice photos of the graphite dial B01 he just bought, this is probably the first review out there of this watch. Well, it looks prety good, much better than dealer's pics, and has changed some people's opinions from negative to positive.
  2. Superb photos and review sir. However, I think the blue is just too bright, even in its darkest state, compared to the gen. What matters is that you like it, enjoy.
  3. I don't care for the bezel insert - markings are too fat.
  4. Neil could be such a jerk at times, and other times he would surprise everyone and be pretty decent. One thing I remember, a long time ago a member was having some personal issues, and went AWOL. People became very worried, nobody could get in touch with this member, we all feared the worst. Neil used to be a private detective, he tracked down the member's relative, told the relative what was going on. The relative found the member, got back to Neil who he let us know the member was alright.
  5. Hey George, thanks much for the link but, I am not very good at these types of mods. For sure I would eff it up but good and at least provide a funny story to the forum. If I decide to get an AP RO jumbo there's a trusted guy in Chicago suburbs named Speedy G (hangs out on repgeek forum) whom I would trust to remove permanent link. Thanks for your help!
  6. Back to the original topic, the watch - I have a 6.5" wrist, quite slim. Could I wear this AP Jumbo, would I have to remove a permanent link and then, how would it wear? Is the bracelet flexible enough to conform to slim wrist? Thank you.
  7. Glad to hear he's been banned from english forums, I'm sure he's still on the german ones. bklm has a monopoly, if you want to call it such, on delivering superb MBK models, but he is a delight to work with. It really depends on whether one is a gentleman, or not.
  8. Thank you Leonado and George for giving us this information, setting the record straight. I have been collecting reps for over 6 years now, I was around when Maria was actively selling and bought 4 watches from him. Well, believe it, some of them had cosmetic flaws, some had mechanical issues, right after purchase. His after-purchase support was horrible. He was abusive, he was outraged that you would even criticize his product. You were on your own, take it to a watchsmith, then when you would tell him your cost to repair, he would call your smith a thief. I'm glad to hear his sales are way down. Don't anyone fall for his arrogant sales pitch, his product is good but if you have a problem dealing with him is very unpleasant.
  9. I see you are keeping your New Year's resolution, R, good man.
  10. Thanks for replies, guys. I'm going to give the screw head a tap as Dems suggested, you know, show it who's boss and soak the links in Liquid Wrench overnight. And Lani, what can I say, you are one of the most generous people I've run across ever. I'll let you know is I need those links. Mahalo x100. Wish me luck guys, I wanna wear it this weekend and do my review too. Let you know how it goes.
  11. Hi all, I just picked up a 2008 Cerachrome Sub from prowatch-polo. Absolutely gorgeous watch and some of the most careful packaging I've ever come across. I will do a full review of dealer and watch soon (am VERY impressed with Mr. Polo!) Anyway I have a 6.5" wrist so 3-4 links have to come out. One screw is stuck, frozen in the link, what can I do about it? I really need to get it out to remove link, or the bracelet will be too big. I doused it in Liquid Wrench, a penetrating oil, letting it sit right now. Is there any good technique for removing frozen screws or am I "screwed" so to speak? I truly appreciate any advice given.
  12. Sounds tahitian to me, maybe it's taking the long way around?
  13. Yes, he used to go by audemarsfan. I have his book, came out a good 5 years ago. TTK contributed a lot of great photos, and other dealers provided samples for the book. I love to flip through it, really demonstrates how far reps have come, only shame is a long time ago at least you knew for sure you had gen ETA ticking inside.
  14. OK, you asked so I'll speak up. I'm the long time member you had a deal with, the one who never got the watch. You are so breezy describing the way things went down, but, from my point of view I've never had a more unpleasant transaction with anyone here. When I told you I had not gotten the watch yet, you told me the tracking # said "something weird, doesn't make any sense, YOU better contact USPS about this". I looked at tracking log and it said that USPS had been notified of a package prepared for shipping, but not necessarily turned in for shipping. Nothing else ever came of this tracking #. You had the gall to tell me to contact USPS and try to find out what happened to the package? Don't you think that should have been your responsibility? Then, after waiting some more for this package to arrive, I even contacted Chicago regional postal inspector, nothing. You should have contacted your local postal inspector to see what happened to the package you sent, don't you think? I was the one doing all the work. Finally, I asked for a refund. Your response to that was way out of line, a complete over-reaction. You basically said your personal life was a shambles and this was the last thing you needed right now, and that you will 'get around" to giving me back my money "if and when" you feel like it. At that point I regretted ever getting into a deal with you, and that is the truth. How's that for professionalism? At this point I contacted mods, who I understand communicated with you on my behalf and you did refund my money. The watch never showed up. You know, for me, posting this is unpleasant, but I feel I had to tell my side of the story.
  15. OK, I've seen enough regards this new Rolex clone movement, I'm staying far away, what a total crock for the money. As a matter of fact, I just changed my order for a GMT IIc with modified 2836-2 movement to one of the new Submariners with the ceramic bezel and simple, non-complication movement. I've read of too many people having problems with their GMT IIc after purchase. Shame as I really love the GMT IIc.
  16. Thanks R, and a very Happy New Year to you!
  17. Excellent! Now just waiting for him to reply.
  18. Thanks for replies, guys. I feel good about my choice, I think he will do an excellent job. @ chronos666 By free shipping do you mean EMS? If so, that's a $25 value. I use only EMS, safest and most reliable.
  19. Hi all, hope you are having a nice NY Eve/Day. So I recently became enamored of the new oversized case Rollies and decided to get a GMT IIc with the new 316F steel, I just think it's a really sharp looking watch. I was thinking of whom to get it from, as I don't really have a preferred dealer. I looked at Prowatch-polo's reviews, of which there are none, then I did a search for Prowatch and came upon some positive posts about him. I liked his very clear photos of the GMT IIc in his webstore. Decided to give him a chance, he seems to be somewhat under-utilized here, maybe he will give me really good service so I would post a positive review about him and generate some business for him. I just e-mailed him asking if he can get the watch with an ETA 2836-2 movement instead of the asian clone Rolex 3186, which I've read is iffy. I will also ask for photos of the watch I will be getting (along with a small piece of paper in the pic with my name on it) so I can see what I will get. I'm excited about this watch, it's a bit more unusual than the usual Submariners. Wish me luck with Prowatch, I'll give a thorough review of his service and product when I get it.
  20. Beautiful straps, guys, thanks for posting. Anyone know where I can get a nice SHORT strap for an 049? I'm waiting on an MBK one from Narikaa, and I have 6.5" wrist. Thanks much and Happy New Year to all.
  21. a7750 movement, I don't think anyone is making datewheels.
  22. melu, PM Narikaa, he will take care of you. Put a deposit on it today, the more I think about it, the more I can't wait. Now I'm researching a nice strap for it, what fun.
  23. Hey R, how are you? I'm wearing mine as I type, and I agree with you - too bad about the lack of finesse on the details, if they got it right this would be a wonderful watch. Nonetheless, I love the way the dial changes in the light, and it's refreshing to wear a silver/white dial watch, all my others are black dial. Happy holidays to you and your family!
  24. Well after w0lf's excellent photos and review on repgeek I just ordered an 049 white dial from Narikaa who is going back to Thailand soon and will hand pick one for me. Saw pics of the white dial on repgeek and it looks really good, I am stoked!
  25. melu, I think it's a hit or miss, a friend just got an 049 (white dial) from one of the major dealers and I was not very impressed, the cyclops was way off over the date window. The overall impression of the watch was that it was sloppy. The MBW version w0lf is talking about is in a different class, just look at it - it's beautiful, very well replicated.
