TAG Link Chrono [Ayrton Senna limited edition]
yaron replied to JuiceMaker's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
Hi Lord, My TAG LINK returned from k2222. Looks fantastic IMH. -
My SMP chrono returned from k2222 with AR coating after some weeks of expectation and the result is amazing. I know the gen (at least the old "classic" version, the more recent version has AR coating) has no AR coating but the watch came totally different. Actually, i did not expect much from this watch and I sent it originally for some repair, but I had a great surprise and for now it is my favorite. I AR'd also a TAG LINk which came out very nice but the SMP is more impressive. very recommended to everyone who wishes to "revive" this amazing watch.

By-Tor's pic is so good that it looks like it already has AR. BTW, my LINK chrono is returning within a few days from k2222. According to J the dial will "burn my eyes". I know there is an updated version of the gen TAG LINK chrono with AR, probably double. I tried it in AD, looked great. -

I purchased this rep from Andrew about 6 months ago, with SSB not rubber, I don't wear it too much because I prefer some others, but the watch is great, very high quality, works perfectly. Costed little more than the silix one, I can see that in mine the date font is different and the two big dials have thin silver and not white borders. Attached a pic. -
Looks like the bracelet version is out in perfect clones, same price as the rubber strap? Good luck
-
Totally agreed, I would not take this rep for free. The gen at least looks like high quality and it's a matter of taste if you like it or not, but the rep looks like Canal street quality
-
Thanks guys, I am convinced, mine is on its way, hope to see it by next week

This is the one with double AR advertised in Josh's website? This is the "ultimate" version?

My SMP chrono and TAG Link are already in Jakub's lab, I am curious what will come out. I am sure the Link will be great. There is a kind of new gen link chrono with AR coating. I also don't know how to take the crystal off and I don't trust any local watchsmith to do this, so I sent the whole watch. The 3717 returened safely, though it took quite a long time, but when you have several good reps it may be better when some are away, so it's easier to decide which one to wear from those left. And when you get it back you feel like getting a new watch.

Thanks, I am sure that daylight pictures would be much better, because in reality it looks much better. About the strap, I am not sure if I want to change it, because in general I like SSB and all my reps except one (SOSF) are with SSB. I know that it is difficult to take the SSB of the 3717, and almost impossible to return it the same way once you changed your mind. In addition, I think the pilot SSB is very special. So I will probably leave it that way for now. BTW, I checked in IWC AD and the SSB version costs almost $1500 more expensive than the black leather strap. When i asked why they could not explain, just said it is more convenient and you can go swimming with it.. I could'nt believe it (of course this is not a reason not to change it if you don't like it). So have good luck with your watch.

My 3717 finally arrived from k2222 after holidays delays. Double AR and DW swap make the watch look different and hardly distinguished from the gen. Great job and Kuba is a great guy to deal with.

Hi Pug, I don't like Panerai in general, but your watch and picture are stunning

Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600 from year 2000 (Genuine)
yaron replied to Stephane's topic in The Rolex Area
Great review and pics. Sure will help people in making decisions (Probably convinced me to skip the "super" SD rep). -
Hi Lord, There is definitely a new version of TAG Link chrono with AR (not sure but probably double), I've seen it today in TAG AD and even tried it on my wrist. It also has kind of improved bracelet with a more convenient clasp and a nicer TAG logo on it. The saleswoman there could not say that it has AR (sadly, she did not know what it means) but the blue dial looks much clearer without the "haziness" of the non-AR'd crystal (that she had there also and gave me a good comparison) and it had the blue tint and the blue reflection of the light from the ceiling deep into the dial as seen with other double AR'd watches. So I think there is no problem in sending Links to J for double AR. I received my Link chrono only yesterday (little "old fashioned"?) but I have to say the watch is great , very elegant and comfortable and of course works perfectly. The resizing of the bracelet was a "piece of cake" following the link (not Link) in By-Tor's nice review.

Glad to here that, a really awsome rep with this so close to correct pearl. The two numbers comprising the date also aligned perfectly . But before you order, talk to your dealer and make sure with him that he supplies you the one with correcr pearl.

I completely agree with you Pug. I just hope you don't insist on the white dial. I have a black with the same brown rep leather strap that you show in your pics and it's a fantastatic watch. Really looks and feels like a gen. Where I live there is no chance of buying it for less than $2700 which is not so cheap. There is still a big difference from $350 (I am not speaking about those of the "Silix sale" that were sold cheaper). One more advantage of the SOSF, IMO is that nobody suspects that it is a rep, because it is an affordable watch, compared to Rolex for example, that probably 99% that we see around are fake and everybody knows it. You can call it ultimate sub or MBW and make whatever "modds" that you like, but the first question when you wear a rolex is always: "Is it fake"? something that nobody will ask about the SOSF. I agree that the SOSF is not the most beautiful watch, and even compared to other breitlings, but we "vote" here for the best rep and not for beauty which is also a matter of personal taste. So Pug my vote goes for you (but black dial).

Hi Jakub, Any news (or pics) about my 3717? Hope you did not put a German datewheel. Regards, Yaron
-
I think that watch is very beautiful with original dial that looks quite different from the "mainstream" chrono watches. However, i agree that it is suitable for young people (not necessarily 15 years old or stupid) and I am saying it as a compliment to this nice looking piece. The only problem is that one has to be selective since we can't buy every rep that comes out especially since they are not cheap at all, so we have to make our priorities. I have some other reps in my list before turning to that one.
-
I want to thank you all for your positive comments. I am really happy with this beauty. I think the date alignment has already imroved a bit today, so I agree that it will probably settle in with use. I apologize again for the pics, I know you all deserve to see much better ones, and as we say these pics really "don't do justice" to this beauty, but I just wanted to make the point that the pearl has been much improved, at least in this version.

Hi Lan, Thanks for everything my friend, Yaron
-
Hi Friends, Thank you, I really like that watch. When I compare to the "ultimate" BCE it seems a little bit smaller (maybe 0.5 mm) but the bezel and the numbers on it look much sharper and IMHO closer to the gen. I enclose additional pics (not very good quality because they are condensed to fit the small loading space). I think the pearl is OK and the deviation to the right is unnoticeable to the "naked eye". I showed it to a friend who owns a gen breitling and he did not understand what I was talking about. So anyway, enjoy , and again, apologize for the quality (the full-sized are much better).
