  1. I think those are bad pics and it is not a crappy dial or watch. If you check at the Rolex website you can see the dial is nice , the pearl OK and the numbers and markers on the ceramic bezel are recessed, the looks is good IMO, except for the writing on the rehaout which I am not sure how visible it will be in real life. I know some people who are already on the waiting list for the gen, and I agree with the members who think that this will become a success. I am sure many will go for it, if a good rep will come out. IMO, the GMT IIc that people like so much also looks ridiculous in some pictures with the big bold numbers on the bezel and the stupid ROLEXROLEX is also there.
  2. I agree and I like my blackbird and I will never think of selling it. I just expressed my frustration at the makers who replicated such a beautiful watch but screwed in these small details that make the rep quite easy to spot. Why? They had the gen as a sample? I can't understand this.
  3. I think it is heavier, I also manage with my BCE but it is borderline. my BCE after resizing is 195 gm , I think the skyland may be heavier. As I mentioned the unsized gen is 255.
  4. I have both. The BCE is much closer to the gen if you have it with the correct date font. The BB has many flaws: the hour markers are too thin, the numbers on the sub dials are smaller, the date window is too wide, the circles on the sub dials are not perfect (compared to a mag picture of the gen), the back cover of the case is totally wrong (although this version used to be in an old model?) in the writing and the shape (the gen cover is a little dommed like the BCE while the rep is flat, which is more comfortable for the wrist for such a heavy weight watch but wrong if you compare to gen). Not to mention the pearl, hopefully you'll get a good one. I agree that the blackbird bracelet looks and feels better, but the BCE bracelet is also OK and what you are mentioning about the gap is hard to notice. So definitely , go for the ultimate BCE with correct DW if you can find one..
  5. The weight will be OK with a leather or rubber strap, but the SSB is cool..
  6. Tried the skyland with SSB at AD and it's quite big and heavy IMO, it's very thick. The AD weighed it in front of me because I expressed my concerns about the size and it weighs 255 gm before resizing. Quite a heavy weight, I can't wear such a heavy watch unless I go for the rubber or leather strap. This is what I do with my SOSF because with the SSB it's too heavy for my wrist. Probably one of the major reasons I would skip the skyland, although it is a real beauty.
  7. Yesterday wore the good "old" SMP.
  8. I think he is in vacation and soon will be back. Great looking Ingy.
  9. Speaking about Lello, I agree that he is a great guy and very nice and easy to deal with, I also had some adventures with the Ingy's DW (although not so extreme as we heared here and of course not Lello's fault..), but these are final results of two great watches with LDW installed.
  10. Great decision, you will not regret. Good luck.
  11. This "conspiracy" theory is very old but it makes some sense, since every rep seems to have flaws, some of them are just stupid and so easy to observe and fix before going to massive production.
  12. I think the price is OK , and the general look is very good, but the two flaws of the half dot at 3 and the "extra" dot on the triangle at @ 12 are very obvious when you are aware of them.
  13. Narikaa sells great value for the price, but still the swiss version is a better quality, probabbly we first should compare the asian rep to the swiss rep version before jumping to the gen. Seems that this one does not have the long hour hand problem.
  14. This SMP was AR'd by Jakub and the crown and tube are gen after the crown & tube that came "out of the box" were broken.
  15. Both look great, but I would definitely go for the black version. But no wonder, all my reps are black, grey or dark blue dials. I also like the red hands in the chrono dials in the black version. Very impressive. Wonder what is the price of a gen?
  16. I think you are reffering to the the DEEPSEA which is not out as a rep.
  17. Personally, for 350-400$ I would buy only a CHS, and if they don't have it right now I can wait, and if they don't have it in the future I can stay with the other reps I own. Probably, most people don't notice and don't know what is correct or wrong HS, but I would not buy a watch with such a substantial flaw when I know that there is a correct one. About the issues with the movement I am sure that a good watchsmith can fix it to be long lasting.
  18. Great picture of a great watch.
  19. I am looking at my SOSF with black dial right now and compare to your pics, sorry to say that although the rep is great, this gen looks much better : the dial is amzing , the AR, the sharp edges of the bezel, the bracelet. I think if you put them side by side the rep can be spotted in a second. Congratulations, wear it well. BTW, how about the weight? is the gen also so heavy weight as the rep? This is what disturbs me most with the SOSF.
  20. people, it's becoming too complicated, sounds more like a phylosophy class than a watch discussion..
  21. @ Pix - I agree on both issues: 1. the Ingy with SSB is quite heavy (~190 g), my wrist is small too, and 2) in my first SSB the clasp was broken as soon as I took the watch out of the box. Fortunately, got quick replacement and I still like it with SSB.
  22. Quite surprising that so many people don't like the metal bracelet for the Ingy which IMO is nice and elegant. Also very well replicated.
  23. If you wear it for the whole day it should not die overnight, does'nt matter how "active" you were. Something must be wrong with the movement.
  24. Without knowing about this nice review I am wearing this beauty today.
