A bit of a confession: This was my second crown guard job on the same watch.... Some may remember my first 1665 attempt. I had modded those crown guards just the way I liked them...Then I got the unfortunate itch to perform the "Pugwash Mod" (lowering the base of the crownguard, so that the crown sits just under the bezel), and I managed to f' the whole thing up. Nothing to do but get a new case, and start over. (I've also changed a few other parts over the years, like the dial & bracelet.)
