ubiquitous
Picked up this nice genuine 1665 dial; this was one of those deals where I wasn't planning on building one of these, but the price was way too good to let it pass! Do I hold on to it? Build it? Pass it on to a friend that is building a 1665 as well? Part of me thinks I should build!
redwatch
Even if you don't end up keeping it Ubi, it will make for a fun project It's a stunning dial, that's for sure!!
Nanuq
Here's the solution to your quandary: I send you the 1665 with the pooched movement, and you see how deep the rabbit hole goes.

dieselpower
I was once in Barcelona and had visited the Gaudi Cathederal (still to be completed) and I discussed the pros and cons of the then debate raging in the city as to weather they should fund the building of the huge central tower. The following night I got horrendously drunk with a friend and the alcohol made me see with total clarity that the tower should be built. I was walking along Las Ramblas shouting "build the tower" at the top of my drunken voice! Now, I am at home, completely sober and yet I have that same unmistakable feeling building within me, the decision is clear and needs shouting from the rooftops "Build the watch! Build the watch!" Come on Ubi - you know it makes sense
