triplehd
R- Miracles do happen. Believe, 4 months ago, our twins came early - 3 months early. We experienced everything - the good & the bad. One thing though, the power of prayer got my wife and I through many ordeals. This is one of the prayers I would say daily (3-5 times a day): Heavenly Father, physician of our souls and bodies, Who have sent Your only-begotten Son and our Lord Jesus Christ to heal every sickness and infirmity, visit and heal also Your servant (name) from all physical and spiritual ailments through the grace of Your Christ. Grant him (her) patience in this sickness, strength of body and spirit, and recovery of health. Lord, You have taught us through Your word to pray for each other that we may be healed. I pray, heal Your servant (name) and grant to him (her) the gift of complete health. For You are the source of healing and to You I give glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen. O Lord our God, Who by a word alone did heal all diseases, Who did cure the kinswoman of Peter, You Who chastise with pity and heal according to Your goodness; Who are able to put aside every sickness and infirmity, do You Yourself, the same Lord, grant aid to Your servant (name) and cure him (her) of every sickness of which he (she) is grieved; and send down upon him (her) Your great mercy, and if it be Your will, give to him (her) health and a complete recovery; for You are the Physician of our souls and bodies, and to You do we send up Glory: to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Both now and forever, and to the ages of ages. Amen. My family will definitely keep Barbara and her family in our prayers and thoughts.

ChipSlap
This is horrible for you and your friends. You all have my sympathy. I work in a lab that diagnoses cancers, and it is never easy to learn that one of the patients is positive. If you have a daughter, get her vaccinated for HPV. Nearly all cervical cancers can be prevented in this way.
freddy333
If you have a daughter, get her vaccinated for HPV. Nearly all cervical cancers can be prevented in this way. Ditto. Not sure I would say 'nearly all', but, certainly, a large percentage (possibly, even most) of them.
ChipSlap
You're right. I had thought the figure was above 90%. it is actually about 70%. Given the 3900 deaths in the US per annum, that means about 2700 CC deaths prevented in the US alone if we achieve 100% vaccination. Statistics aside, one death is a tragedy. maxman
Plai, Thoughts and prayers from the Netherlands to your friends wife. I go with Freddy and advise her to visit the specialists. Things may sound very bad but there is always hope. Almost 3 years ago 2 specialists visited me at my hospital bed telling me to enjoy the next coming Christmas because it was going to be my last , because they discovered a malignant kidney tumor which has spread to my femur bone. Next December will be my 3rd Christmas after i got that message. So tell here to never loose faith and get the support of the best medical care possible in Spain ( or abroad ). plaifender
Hi Plaifender, how was the surgery? everything go well? Thanks a lot nick. Haven't been able to reach Barbara's husband over the last few days. Only thing i know is that she is relatively stable right now and that they might be returning to bolivia/colombia next week to be Barbara's family. My wife and I are going to drive up to barcelona this weekend to see her in the hospital. I'm not sure how the surgeory went, and if they were able to get rid of all the tumors on her intestine, but I will let you all know. Thanks so much for all your support. Support like this is what makes me proud to be part of such a great community!
plaifender
Hey guys, just got back from a weekend in Barcelona visiting barbara. She's doing somewhat well and recovering from her surgeory. She was very positive about the whole ordeal and was great to see her and her family. They were able to remove 2 tumors but discovered a third during surgeory. The third tumor was inaccessible and they might try to get it next month. In any case, as soon as she's able to start eating solid foods again in the next week or two they will be headed back to bolivia to be with family and take it from there. The next step will be to begin further treatment either there or possibly the u.s. after spending some quality time with loved ones. Anyways.. barbara sends her gratitude and appreciation to all of you guys here on the forum. I told her about all your kind words, thoughts, prayers and energy sending Thank you all for your support
