Need your thoughts and prayers ...

Guys,

My dad, who is a fellow watch collector and even dabbled in the rep world, had a massive stroke last night. He is my best friend. It doesn't look good. Your thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Marty i was reading your post while waiting for my son to get out of school.

This made me realize once again that father and son is a specials bond.

My prayers are with your father and you hoping he will recover.

I wish you all the strength you can find in this period.

So sorry to hear. I adore my 80 year old Dad but were at an age now where your life can change with a phone call. It's something you can never prepare for. Be strong and loving...that's what family is for at this time. I'll offer one up for you and your Dad.

Guys,

This the first opportunity that I have had to write. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. The sense of friendship and community here is overwhelming to me. I've learned more about strokes in the past three days, than I ever thought I would want or need to know. Needless to say, this has been devastating to me and my family. My dad's stroke was massive. It involved a blockage to middle cerebral artery. To add insult to injury, there was hemorrhaging after the initial stroke. The Neurologist, who I really like, called it a perfect storm. Regrettably, my dad already takes coumadin, which is a powerful blood thinner, so the clot busting drugs you hear about could not be used. Now only time will tell. There is still swelling in his brain and his condition is deteriorating. Things don't look good. The only blessing is that he is non-responsive and doesn't know what is happening.

In tribute to my dad, I am wearing one of his favorite watches, a gen Omega Seamaster, 2254.50. My dad didn't baby his watches. He certainly didn't own any winder queens. It's one of my favorites. I hope you like it.
