andreww Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 Love it or hate it, you have to admit that it looks much better than the Superocean that it replaced which had a very dated look to it. I think this one does a very good job in filling that low end slot in the Breitling lineup. I would assume that this one is geared toward the younger market and I think it will do quite well. Probably not a watch I'll be buying unless they do a budget 4813 version though. Thanks for taking the time to do an excellent writeup mate!
Jkay Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 I see by your extreme close-up of the movement that some clones are now using an eight hole reversing wheel. One more way to tell the difference has been removed! The shock spring and the pearlage are my only clues.
plaifender Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 Awesome and informative review Importr! very nice. Thanks for the time and effort! Let's see how many noobs and vets alike this will convince
importr Posted June 21, 2011 Author Report Posted June 21, 2011 How about some strap options, apart from DP-II? brown calf stitched or Pro-II?
hackR Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 Hey I... terrific review... thanks!... but have to agree with Dave...this isn't my cup of tea, either... oh where, oh where, is that Breitling brand i love so much...lost at sea, i think... R
jeff g Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 Great review, and a nice watch...no matter what Dave 123 says. Wear it well.

While a 'cheap' look for sure,it is replacing a cheap model....
chrgod Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Thanks for the great review! I look forward to when they get out the bracelet for this model.
By-Tor Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Amazing review my friend! This kind of stuff is what keeps the forum going. I don't really like this model but your pictures make it look good.
Notloc08 Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 Thanks for the great review, this watch is still growing on me. I think once they have the bracelet for it I'll take the dive.
blackdice Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Anyone know how accurate is the red version? Thinking of getting the Red version.
alphaleloby Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Well, after seeing a photo of one in an on-flight magazine I decided it was a bit different to the usual "bling" jobs and when I finally got one I think it's better on the wrist than any photo gives it justice. I'm now looking for a black leather strap for it but none of the usual rep-guys seem to have the 20/18 ones. Any ideas???
alphaleloby Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 rep leather straps are junk anyway I wondered that. I got a nice one today from a local shop that will do the job. Cheers!
thegrizz Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 great review, thanks for taking the time to share.
importr Posted July 4, 2011 Author Report Posted July 4, 2011 I notice that Puretime has now updated the sales blurb to say that the lume markers at 6,9,12 have been updated. In fact, it says that the whole dial is updated. The rehaut and hands were already pretty good, so i reckon it was just the dial itself?
slask111 Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 Now we are just waiting for a good SS strap...
Cordoba130 Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 I notice that Puretime has now updated the sales blurb to say that the lume markers at 6,9,12 have been updated. In fact, it says that the whole dial is updated. The rehaut and hands were already pretty good, so i reckon it was just the dial itself? Yes, I saw. I already own a older version (Like you) Yesterday I ordered the lume updated version, hope that I can tell you the difference within two weeks
maxman Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 The watch Itself Is not my cup of tea but your review Is excellent. Thanks for taking the time out to do It Mike
Whatever123 Posted July 8, 2011 Report Posted July 8, 2011 Great review, thanks! I have to say this watch really grew on me... at first I didn't like it at all, now I'm seriously thinking about buying one. Maybe the yellow rehaut one - as a summer watch!
Jkay Posted July 8, 2011 Report Posted July 8, 2011 The new action videos from our Dealers really made the watches pop for me.
adamo99 Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 With the ProII bracelet, it looks much better!
cougar1 Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 TTT.......Thanks for the review. I didn't like this at first, I thought it had a bit of a "fisher price" dial and bezel, but I have to say it's really grown on me. Think I will add it too my 'to buy' list, cheers!
prospex44 Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 Good review, i've been looking at this model for a while and your pics are helping to sway me!
