Recently the government was hitting the rep watch market. The situation went bad day by day. Many factories were seized. Today three factories were seized. the factories in market are very nervous.

Many watches can't be available now.

So if you are processing your order with dealers, better to check the status with your supplier in time. if you are going to make a deal now, better to hold it for a few days to check the situation if the dealer have no the watch in stock. Just a advice.

This is just something I have heard so if its the end is unclear...... :snorkel:

Did they arrest quarter the population of China? :) Seriously though, if three main factories were seized then it could be a delay for about a month in getting things back up to full swing! Doesn't bode well, wasn't there a big clampdown this time last year aswell and a mini clampdown last november, they are getting more frequent.

This hits every 2 years or so. They generally hit the "low hanging fruit". The people producing the Canal Street Junk.

Our guys have weathered this storm at least twice since I have been around.

Pretty big takedown apparently one of the main rolex suppliers...not noob, has been involved, PO 42mm, some tag lady version and pam 300m gone down.

I can see this maybe affecting someone like WatchEden, Silix, etc.

Here we go, blowing it all out of proportion when we don't know anything definite yet! Don't speculate, wait for the dealers to show up and tell us for sure what's been affected..... I'm sure it will put a damper on some reps but not all, so it's not the end of reps as we know them...........Yet.....

Interestingly,

There have been reports the last few days of military action and possible coup going on in Beijing.

Reps are very profitable business. This will never end, as long as there's money to be made. They may close a factory, but more will open a week after that. Plus bigger, more established factories simply pay officials to keep things quiet.

Good thing I ordered and received 6 reps over the last 6 weeks and didn't wait to pull the trigger. I only have one outstanding order left with Andrew -- a Rolex Classic SD -- but he hasn't mentioned anything about there being a problem filling the order.
