Guest Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Im think of getting another GEN and ever since I seen the billboard for a YMII in white gold Ive been bitten. I wish they were coming out with the stainless version, white-gold used it is a lot of money....Just wanted to see everyone's opinions.
Guest zeleni kukuruz Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 I wouldent wrist it even if i got it for free, sorry!
w.genzo Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 The ugliest rolex ever, imho Not my piece of cake but on the same style the new Yachtie with blue dial, or if you have money to invest the Sky Dweller.
dluddy Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Appreciate the innovation of it but find it horrid
atomic_doug Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Do you have a yacht? Do you participate in yacht racing? If so, the watch is practically made for your needs and you can easily forgive its visual shortcomings since it's just so useful. As a watch, though, it's as ugly as the inside of a hotdog.
irolexu Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 I'd rather wear java the hut on my wrist personally...
freddy333 Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 I prefer the version with indented bezel numbers, but I, too, like the white YMII. I doubt whether I would ever have the nerve to wear such a loud watch in public, but I think it would look great in 1 of my cases.
freddy333 Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 You can find video reviews detailing the YMII's functions on youtube.
Guest Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Nanuq: funny........That's nuts guys....How can nobody like this watch. ...No no yachts yet, but hey how many PAM guys dive? How many daytona owner race cars? Id love a stainless steel version with the blue bezel!!!!
TeeJay Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 You can find video reviews detailing the YMII's functions on youtube. I just googled it, and from an engineering point of view, it's a very interesting piece of kit
panerai153 Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 I really admire the engineering amd innovations. Rolex has burst out of it's ultra conservative shell in a big way. I suppose they had to keep up with the other high end watch companies who keep releasing watches that are more and more bizarre every year. Personally, I thought the previous Yachtmaster was too blingy for me. Now if I had a 44 foot Swan sitting in my slip at the local Yacht club, and iwas into offshore racing, sure I t would be a great watch, but on the other hand boats like that have all sorts of sophisticated electronics to give you your position relative to the start line, as well as a countdown timer to let you know to the second your remaining time, so in actuality, a watch like this would probably be arm candy. I don't have a offshore racing sailboat, so I would look silly wearing one of these.
kingkaiser Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 Honestly one of the least attractive rolexes IMO. It looks like they went to canal street in the 1980s for design inspiration.
rogerthat Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 I think they would have been better off just making the old ym a larger size instead of the redesign that I find ugly
tmg Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 Two words, ug ly! But I'm sure it would look great on you. lol
docblackrock Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 Do you have a yacht? Do you participate in yacht racing? Still no excuse to sport this red-haired stepchild when tasteful understated yachtie innovation can be had elsewhere for less than a grand... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSRzBmMZ9Uw&feature=youtube_gdata_player
woof* Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 Clown-Master This pretty much sums up my thoughts and feelings about the design.
mymanmatt Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 Have never seen one in person, but would love to
Londonboy Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 Seen the all YG in person as a guy I know has one but haven't seen the all WG version except through a store window. Amazing watch but not for me - whether I had a yacht or not.
raywj Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 Wasn't to big of a fan of the first one, but compared to this.....I'd rather cut my hand off with a hacksaw.
tanya Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 Fuglly Regular gents yacht master rolesium outclasses it in every way possible
HaydenM Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 Personally I think it is their of the ugliest watches I have seen. The dial is way too cluttered to be an everyday worn and although would be useful for yachting for anything else it's hideous.
