denimhead Posted September 7, 2014 Author Report Posted September 7, 2014 Thanks for the info but I don't seem to be able to open the link you have provided. Strange? works for me
lukenorris2011 Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 I was under the impression this was his son, furthermore the man I contacted stated it was his son. Life's a [censored], then you marry one!
mcotter Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Yup, Phong is still operating from "jewelryandwatch.com",the new site is said to be his son & yes it is a very cool site... Best, mcotter
candide2424 Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Is he still operating from the US ? By the way I can't open website neither on my ipad nor my galaxy tab.
MIKE32500 Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 How is it possible to have a such website in US ???? !!!!! I did not know US was the most permissive country in the world...
CptTripps Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 His prices may be high, but his work is outstanding. I have 3 watches based off of his kits and all are superb.
OmegaPOFL Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) Now website doesn't work Edit: it works now.. I was getting 404s first two times I clicked on the link Edited September 8, 2014 by astrograph
alligoat Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 The links working for me but I'm on my laptop, not a small something or other. I think Phong and his son get away with what they're doing because everything is vintage and Rolex's patents have run out.
martijnp Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Didn't know these phongs where so expensive.. Looks great tho!
automatico Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 "Didn't know these phongs were so expensive." I knew it but still can not believe it. I would buy a cheaper Yuki etc case. Why? Because a replica will always be a replica just like a monkey in a tuxedo will always be a monkey.

Why? Because a replica will always be a replica just like a monkey in a tuxedo will always be a monkey. And to be honest his stuff varies massively in terms of being close to Gen spec. I've had some crap cases from him before DH
cc33 Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 For older models that had the more pronounced bevels, phong's cases are best. Yuki doesn't do a great job in that department
quaresma7 Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 For older models that had the more pronounced bevels, phong's cases are best. Yuki doesn't do a great job in that department Is it Big Crown case from Phong?!
cc33 Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Is it Big Crown case from Phong?! Yes but with a gen bezel, his is almost the same, and brass too..
denimhead Posted September 10, 2014 Author Report Posted September 10, 2014 Yes but with a gen bezel, his is almost the same, and brass too.. True A, the best out there and very reasonable against the mind blowing price of a gen
lukenorris2011 Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 True A, the best out there and very reasonable against the mind blowing price of a gen +1 phongs bezel is fabulous. Brass, played over like gen. MQ etc doesn't come near too it. Deffo worth the £! Life's a [censored], then you marry one!
quaresma7 Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 Yes but with a gen bezel, his is almost the same, and brass too.. Wow those bevels are simply amazing.. I really need to get start a Big Crown project
imajedi Posted September 11, 2014 Report Posted September 11, 2014 The links working for me but I'm on my laptop, not a small something or other. I think Phong and his son get away with what they're doing because everything is vintage and Rolex's patents have run out. But Rolex's trademarks have not. This website, well more the sale of the products, is def illegal by US standards and will eventually be shut down. It's basically like whack a mole. They shut it down and 3 days later it's up again under a diff domain. It's much more difficult to shut down a domain listed under certain country domains like China's instead of .com. Eventually they figure that out and park it there.
pam007 Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 Can someone PM me on how to get in contact with Phong's Son? I can't find any contact info on the website Thanks
mir36 Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 I'm sold on the case set. What do the experts think about the dial which comes with the 6538 project kit? I missed out on CC's 'legendary' 6538 project dial.
