HaydenM Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 (edited) Hi all, I have just finished my first watch build, the rolex 1016 This build includes: - JMB vintage explorer case - Yuki 1016 dial - Combination of Clark and Yuki hands (due to me stupidly bending the yuki hour hand) - Gen ETA 2824-2 - Yuki 93153 Edited October 10, 2014 by HaydenM 5
jackflash Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Very nice job. Great shots too. Congrats
SSTEEL Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 I just built one of these for a customer, they are lovely
DVNE Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Looks awesome! Great build. Waterproof it and never take it off
HaydenM Posted October 10, 2014 Author Report Posted October 10, 2014 Looks awesome! Great build. Waterproof it and never take it off What would I do to waterproof this?
robpatte Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Oh man... Now that's what I want! Top notch!
robpatte Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 I just built one of these for a customer, they are lovely Well if youre still in the mood to build SSteel... I'm in the mood to buy one PM me and let's talk R
HaydenM Posted October 10, 2014 Author Report Posted October 10, 2014 Oh man... Now that's what I want! Top notch! If you don't end up getting one from SSteel then it was actually a relatively simple build to be honest.
robpatte Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 If you don't end up getting one from SSteel then it was actually a relatively simple build to be honest. HaHa. I'm sure I could find a way to screw it up, you've read the pain I'm in with my TT 1016. But PM me with details.
SSTEEL Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Well if youre still in the mood to build SSteel... I'm in the mood to buy one PM me and let's talk R You source the parts, then once you have everything, ship them to me, and I will build it for you. 1
droptopman Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Looks great. Nice work. Excellent pics too. Sent from my droptop using telepathy.
tomhorn Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 The Yuki dials have definitely gotten better. Nice build!
blue. Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Congratulations! Wear it as often as you can. I personally do not take my 1016 off.
droptopman Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Keep coming back to look at this. I have very similar build coming. All my parts are with Matt for assembly. I will just keep staring at yours until mine comes.
lhooq Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Wonderful! May it stay on your wrist for a long time to come!
HaydenM Posted October 11, 2014 Author Report Posted October 11, 2014 I will take more when I can but unfortunately pretty much since I took these photos my 5D has refused to turn on :/ I'm definitely happy with how it turned out but I'm not sure about the case shape and I know that the engravings on it are wrong (useless unless wearing it on a strap, which I sometimes do).
Champagnesky Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 Wow! Nice! How is the bracelet btw?
HaydenM Posted October 12, 2014 Author Report Posted October 12, 2014 Wow! Nice! How is the bracelet btw? The bracelet isn't too bad, the last bracelet I had was the tudor black bay which was spectacular in weight but didn't size to my wrist. So for a ≈$60 bracelet I am impressed.
HaydenM Posted October 12, 2014 Author Report Posted October 12, 2014 A few more photos of the watch (unfortunately it seems like my DSLR is dead, so we shall see what happens with that. These were shot with an iPhone 4).
If you see Kay Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Nice job. I don't wear mine nearly enough. Time to fall in love with the 1016 again
