dbane883 Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 Since RWG was down all weekend, managed to work on the 6538 on Sunday. Replaced the newer CWP with older ones that I acquired recently. They slightly more period correct with the longer minute hand that now touches the chapter ring. The hour hand is abut loose and I will have to get it repaired/rebroached this week. The bevels were marginally recut on the case and I installed a gen 6636 expanding rivet bracelet. When I bought it, the clasp was an incorrect USA C&I clasp. I was thinking of sending it to Michael Young to swap in the correct Swiss Gay Freres 6636/7206 clasp, but decided to tackle the surgery myself. The patient survived the transplant I'm happy to report. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 3
Nanuq Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 Magnificent! Mine runs away and hides in comparison.
droptopman Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 Hard to improve what you had...but you have done it. Hands match dial perfectly. Looks absolutely amazing. Sent from my droptop using telepathy.

Mendota Explorer Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 (edited) That is indeed perfection right there. That is an heirloom piece. How do you take your pics? Do you use a DSLR and any special lighting? How do you get such amazing shots? Even your wristies look like DSLR shots. Edited April 22, 2015 by Mendota Explorer

For macros, I may use my olloclio, but usually too lazy to take the phone out of its case, so I simply hold a 10x loupe and press it firmly against the case and zoom in just enuff to crop out the visible area of the loupe. But you are right, good lighting is key in any photography. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My Galaxy S4 can take great pics but I haven't figured out all of the settings or modes for it, so I'm not taking advantage of any of the capabilities. Before I know it, the time will come to upgrade to the S6 and I'll have to learn it all over again.
Kime Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 That looks very very nice ! Is CWP Clarks? If so how did you get old vs new etc.
Mendota Explorer Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Michael Young, Classic Watch Parts.
508-Fanatic Posted April 23, 2015 Report Posted April 23, 2015 This makes my 6538 look like fail. I need to get that tube pushed in or something...grr
Frazzle1 Posted April 23, 2015 Report Posted April 23, 2015 OMG! That truly is a masterpiece! Sadly I can not even begin to compare with my Silix cased version
Mendota Explorer Posted April 23, 2015 Report Posted April 23, 2015 OMG! That truly is a masterpiece! Sadly I can not even begin to compare with my Silix cased version LOL, same here. I'm about to start ordering my parts for my Silix build, too. It's gonna feel like a Fisher Price toy watch compared to that masterpiece.
