droptopman
Saw that one when parts shopping. Found another for 8k in worse shape. I can see me trying to explain that to the wife....or any sane person for that matter. Sent from my droptop using telepathy ️

freddy333
Not NOS but ... The worn out Rolex part that sells for thousands today was tossed into the bin without a 2nd thought up until a few years ago. Interesting how fashion changes.

Sogeha
I know we are talking genuine parts here, but that is genuinely destroyed. I questioned my sanity committing five grand to a big crown build. Five grand Sterling for a knackered insert!

Mendota Explorer
Is that a 5508? Close - it's a 6536/1 if I remember correctly. I drool over his entire watch box. Literally every vintage piece I want, he has! Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
Nanuq
Yep it's a 6536/1 from about April, 1958. It was issued to a spec-ops diver and when he died his widow gave it to me. It was beat to hell and took over 20 years and a lot of watchmakers to pull it back from the brink. Tom Nesbitt and George Kajanoff in Seattle, our own Ubiquitous and The Zigmeister, and now my local AD watchmaker all breathed new life into it.
