Well gents, all the parts have been sourced and sent to Mike this morning, I can't wait to see this project come to life. Here's the list:

-2.8 mil gen 5513 case set with tropic 19 (thanks Themillerdave)

-Gen feet first dial (sourced from VRM)

-Matching Gen handset (Themillerdave)

-Gen 1570 movement (pulled from a 1002)

-NOS bezel assembly (VRM)

-MK3 fat font insert (eBay)

-700 crown and tube (crown eBay tube Themillerdave)

This whole project started with a dial and hands, can't believe I sourced everything with minimal difficulty. I'll post progress here as I get it.

Thanks, an expensive journey, thankfully I had the movement and the dial was a swap for something I didn't need.

I know that pain way to well brother!

Expensive but in the end it was so worth the long and costly journey.

This will be a fantastic build for sure, i dream of getting a vintage Rolex like that, can't wait to see the result !

Little by little or get yourself a rep to hold you over if you want to go gen some day.

you sure those hands are gen?

strongly doubt that second and hour hand

Well, they were bought from a very reputable sell here on the board so I hope so. The photo is crappy, they look a lot better in person. I'll have Mike look at them and let me know.

this can't be a cheap project.....

can't wait to see the results though!

No, not cheap but it's a Gen so yo really can't go wrong. Now I'll have 2 Gen Subs and will be in the market for a 3rd in the future. I'm a bit of a Subaholic and always have been since the early 80s. Someday I'll post my story.

I'm going to follow progress here with great interest. It's going to be awesome no doubt... but percentage wise how much will you save over buying an all original 5513?

I am enjoying wearing my Rep (picked up here) with some Gen parts... and all the work that has gone into that. But... It has strengthened my desire to have a gen 5513. Perhaps this really is another way.

Hope it turns out well sir.
