I no longer post in LB...but the topic took me back a few years.

The Platters in 1960 was my very first concert.

The one I remember was Day 2 and 3 at Woodstock in 1969. Missed day 1 due to a thirty mile traffic jam. I just can't explain...you had to be there ;)

Jjajh...

Being an old geezer like me, I'm sure you'd want to know that your signature is incorrect. It should be:

...On an ever spinning reel...

Saw Cream open for The Boxtops at the Butler University (Indianapolis) homecoming.....drove up from Bloomington with a friend who was a guitar player in a local band......he cried while watching Clapton play...the students booed the long solos and we left after the opening act....although I heard that the Boixtops got good reviews in the Butler Blade...........

The partridge family?

(sounds like something you'd pay money to see bra3000  )

ahhhh..... there's that old voice of unwavering self-control with which you once moderated on rwgI - NOT.

but, don't panic - you can buy more booze tomorrow.

just splendid!

how GAY is that?

Gotta love the old metallica :thumbsupsmileyanim: I have seen them three times live and each show was phenominal. Great live band. I am not into their new stuff, but their older stuff was just splendid!

Are you saying you don't like the Black Album forward, or after the Black Album. Metallica Rocks! Back to the thread at hand. First was Ted Nugent!, then Kiss, Styx, Foghat, Van Halen, Van (Hager), Metallica, Cheap Trick, Peter Frampton, White Snake, Ratt, and Kiss again. I don't really like concerts as you can see... I was hooked. I almost forgot The Who.

@les center :)

Thank you for pointing out my faux pas...but unfortunately it was intentional... since 'reel' reminded me of movies while 'wheel' seemed to go better with horology. But what do us old farts know anyway :bleh:

*basement bump*

Actually came across this thread searching for a 'Topic' where members post home vids of musicianship. After 20+ pages of Search Keyword Music/Guitar/Video, I came across a few quick links to '2005SUBMARINER', a lot aof allusions to "I will, or I was gonna"..............a couple of dead end and broken links to 'jonthebhoy' (whatever happened to him?) and a few luthiers but? phoband? Anyone? a link? Gratsi.........................

Anyhoo, I got a "Flip Video" recorder for Xmas, the type where a USB connector extends and you can upload direct to YouTube? I am having fun with it, and dusted off my kit. Hmmmm, I'm losing my chops. Never get old kids. It just dates you...................here's a one take dirty cut after a day of run throughs. Lord, there was actually rust on the strings! Not good.

I dunnoh? This Demseyristi sorta liked the Southern Fried Zeppelin video, seeing as I'm partially redneck (my liver) kinda person. :D And my first rock concert which I never revealed, could you really call it that in 1966 which you really had to be stoned to appreciate............Fillmore Auditorium 1966, July 1st only, Quicksilver Messenger Service and Big Brother & the Holding Company............Ryyannon oughta remember those days when we ancients ruled the day and so young we didn't know crap even though we thought we knew it all.

It good to see this in the Looney Bin that you actually have to want to come here to see as it doesn't popup in "View New Posts". Mike will eventually put his "yawning baby" stamp on all this flatulence reminiscing.

Enjoyed the vids.

For a bit of light hearted amusement and appreciation of musical virtuosity and arrangement, try these:-

August 18, 1979 Cal-Expo Blue Oyster Cult, Cheap Trick, Pat Travers Band, and Shakin' Street.

The first of many times to see BOC and Pat Travers (still one of my favorites today).

I'm completely jealous. The one band that I never got to see that I wish like hell I could turn the clock back for.

Seen the Who, the Stones, Metallica (several times), Van Halen, Van Hagar...but never Zepp.
