Stephane
Dear All, I'm starting a crazy project that should be fun: let's call it "The CrazySub". What is that watch? A Noobmariner? Let's see: Yes, it is having the genuine tag with the correct serial, so it is a genuine Noobmariner Ok, now that is weird though! It came back from a first travel with lug holes That's all for now, the CrazySub is going to travel again
StormTooper4
Great Pics as always, look forward to the next installment ST
alligoat
Those lugholes look nice. I tried that on a $100 sub, pretty much totaled out the case. It ain't easy to do!
By-Tor
When I looked at the first photo, I thought it's a gen. Noobmariner looks almost perfect from the front view. Then I noticed the gap between SEL and the lugs. But damn... I gotta get one of these again.
mrandazzo
I love the genuine noob tag Enjoy the lugholed sub, Stephane!

Dizzy
Heres my lugged up noob.. YES it was hard to drill the lugs AND the SELS. Looks pretty damn good though. Its an awesome mod! I can wait to see what you are going to do next!!!
Stephane
Great Pics as always, look forward to the next installment ST Oh, it's far from being finsihed... Those lugholes look nice. I tried that on a $100 sub, pretty much totaled out the case. It ain't easy to do! Yes, even RepAustria and Tribal do not want to try. You MUST have the correct material/tools and that is not cheap. When I looked at the first photo, I thought it's a gen. Noobmariner looks almost perfect from the front view. Then I noticed the gap between SEL and the lugs. But damn... I gotta get one of these again. Incredible you say that. When I looked at that photo myself I was wondering if making it a project watch was a good idea. Maybe I should buy a spare Noob now as they are really very close to the real deal. This one is untouched except the lug holes by the way. I love the genuine noob tag Enjoy the lugholed sub, Stephane! Yes, I have a tag for each Rolie now. Funny to see the Noob or MBW serial on a perfect copy of the Rolex stickers and on a gen green tag. let me guess will it be an ... 16800 ? good luck and thanks for sharing !! Frank Wow, you must be reading my private mails and pm @Lonnie: wow, yours look georgous. Care to share the mods?

By-Tor
Now that it has lugholes it would be a great start for a 14060 project (modern no-date Submariner). Gen has shallow rehaut and I think Noob would be absolutely perfect height. Gen dial would be everything you need (and a non-sel bracelet of course). w.genzo
A 16800 would be an intersting project with a noob, but a open 6 and 9 date font overlay font is pretty rare. Not sure also that a gen no sel 93150 would fit properly. I'd go for a 14060 too.. Looking forward to see it finished
By-Tor
Now that I think about it... why don't the Noob factory make a great no-date Sub Super rep from the Noobmariner base... and sell thousands of it? Maybe because they're not interested in money?
Stephane
Well, I have some very used parts: gen old insert, gen old crown, and a very mistreaten gen dial... The idea is not be as accurate as possible but create a watch that has been worn and beaten to death but still functions ...
rosnik
My compliments Steph! You get your first modded Rolly! BMW: not SEL bracelet is a must there....

Tribal
Damm Stephane, a Noob with Lugholes My friend you kill me. I build up a 16800 years ago but never find a good matte Dial. That's a great project. Hope to see the Result. Man I think I must give it a try again and kill some Cases Congrats to this great Project my Friend. Tribal
Now that it has lugholes it would be a great start for a 14060 project (modern no-date Submariner). Gen has shallow rehaut and I think Noob would be absolutely perfect height. Gen dial would be everything you need (and a non-sel bracelet of course). I think this will not work, because a Gen 14060M Dial is smaller in Diameter and won't fit the Noob Case. But Idea is great.
alligoat
A gen Rolex dial won't fit in a noobmariner case, it's too small. So you can't build a 16800 with a 'Swiss- T<25" tritium dial in that case. Only option is the TW Best case or MBW case. It's too bad, cause the rehaut on the noob is perfect for a 16800! But you could do the 16610 post tritium dial, but w/ lug holes and a 93150 bracelet (501B end pieces), circa the year 2000.
P4GTR
That noob looks d@mn good. I'm in no position to be a judge, but those are some of the best looking lugholes i've ever seen. I'll stay tuned for more Steph, good luck with the project!
rolex001
Oh, a case like that definitely fits a genuine dial. No worries here...
bruce79
The work that was done on those lug holes is amazing...great to see this project in the works...if you at all able to source a date whell iwth the open 6 & 9s, let me know...that's all I need for my franken 16800... Stephane
Thanks for all you comments guys. We'll see how it turns out but I believe that what I envision is possible indeed. Now, don't expect a brand new polished watch...I repeat this is going to be a CrazySub

Dizzy
i cant wait to see how yours turns out!!!! This movement and dial from my noob will end up inside a MBW16610 soon so i was thinking the same thing about a 16800 or a newer nodate sub with a 93150 bracelet..... The possibilities are endless!!!
