ubiquitous Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Took a few moments out of the weekend to snap some new pics of the Sub Current modification list is as follows: -Genuine crystal ring -Genuine bezel washer -Genuine bezel click -Genuine bezel ring -Genuine insert -Genuine Cyclope 295C -Genuine crown -Old TW Best end links -WM9 outer first link (without the ref no. stamped) -Hollow midlink bracelet links from a noobmariner -WM9 clasp I'm not too pleased with these hands; those will be the next items changed, I think. Thanks for looking! Cheers, R
jmt Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Look great, Ubi. One thing I still wonder about-- what should I be looking for in the hands. What don't you like about them?
Guest porsche356a Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Awesome pix as always! Lovin' the sub.
Paneraibob Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Real nice setup!!! About the endlinks they look great but still not perfect, so i am asking myself how about a real bracelet does anybody know if it would fit to the case? Cheers
Tribal Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Very nice, I can look at this Pics ever and ever again. The rehaut depth looks perfect as I stated times before. The idea to change the SEL's is also very nice. Damn good Job Randy I love it
millemiglia Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Speechless I have the WM9 Zserial sub, mine came with totally wrong Cyclops (monster mag. and misplaced too! ). Is it easy to change just the Cyclope? Would a replacement crystal (as seen on ebay) work?
caracarnj Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Nice photo shots. Must learn to take photo like you.
Pugwash Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Damn, that's nice. A frankensub, the marble, the photos, it must be Ubi.

slickdick Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Thanks! By the way, how do you actually detach the Cyclops? You got the heat it. Try a hairdryer (or if it aint capable try something heavier like a butanegas torch ) BTW Nice Rollie! gen bracelet and tudor hands will finish this baby up quite nicely!

" i can see this going well wrong" !!!
JoJo35 Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Great job ubi, you put my frankens to shame!
RWG Technical Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Well done, great workmanship as usual. Beautiful photo's, love the background. RG
lanikai Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 thanks for the pics R.. looks like your getting used to your lens.... another gem to your collection Aloha R
cib0rgman Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Speechless , What a fantastic piece. I keep getting impress with your watches, next to impossible A perfect Submariner. who has the best submariner UBI All you need is a Dial and is done.
HauteHippie Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Another lovely Ubimariner. One thing that really stands out to me are the end links. They are fantastic. Boy do I ever need to do something about the end links on my sub!! On the hands, I don't think they're too bad. But, I agree, that there are better hands out there. Some of the rep hands on recent MBWs are nearly identical to the gen sub hands, much closer than Tudor sub hands even.
alligoat Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Beautiful job, RS! You take these frankens to a whole nother level, congrats!
alt.watch.obsessive Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Yup...Looks like a Rolex to me. Great work Ubi! BTW, you guys have good eyes. I can't image there's a single gen owner (other than one of us) who could pick their endlinks out of a lineup.
millemiglia Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 All you need is a Dial and is done. This watch tries to replicate the (rarer) "flat S" (like an inverted "Z") dial that Rolex used in the beginning of the decade, would you consider it "bad" or is it a good replica of that particular dial?
w.genzo Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 This watch tries to replicate the (rarer) "flat S" (like an inverted "Z") dial that Rolex used in the beginning of the decade, would you consider it "bad" or is it a good replica of that particular dial? There's nothing wrong on this rep dial. Among all the rep dials I would put it on the same level of the noob one. It's not so rare, also some modern subs have this dial. I've seen this on gen Z-serial 2007 Sub, both SS or TT. WM9 replicate a Z-serial Sub, so it's correct
Sir-Lancelot Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 That looks sweet!! Your pictures are looking damn fine. Nice job Ubi.
