Timepiece Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 I am not an expert on the matter and have no connections to any brand. I gathered all information below on the net for my own interest. After two years of RWG I got busted last month when a parcel with a rep was snatched by Customs. I was criminally charged by the Ministery of Justice. I would not be prosecuted if I signed a waver for the rep. Fortunately it was a resend by mistake by a dealer so I suffered no loss. BUT, it made me think if I really want to live in fear of being convicted over a lousy ~200 euro
KB Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Wow what an excellent write up and I must admit a very sexy range of watches. Thanks for sharing this with us. Ken
patinga Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Very cool. I had heard about Ball but never looked into them. Thanks for the info!
Shundi Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Beautiful....just beautiful! Thanks for writing that up...might be on my list!
italiano17771 Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 excellent review!! i too have wanted to get a ball, although their range in size was a bit too small for my liking. i think the biggest 1 i found was 44mm. nevertheless, beautiful watches. thanks for the write-up.
Ztech Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Yep, Ball is a very often overlooked company that makes great watches at very competitive prices. I owned one in the past and they're top shelf quality. Thanks for that great write up.
Dani Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 looks like the watches you get when putting a $ into one of those hand grabbing machines. Not my cup of tea. Cheers
mastergod Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Interesting, thanks for the write-up. I
AMK000 Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Excellent write up. Ball is a fine watch company. Very similar to Oris and Longines (Ball watches are usually more expensive than Oris).
dluddy Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Fantastic write-up on Ball. I learned a lot by reading this so thanks for sharing
FxrAndy Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Very interesting thanks for showing them to us, I do agree about the indentity bit.
Toadtorrent Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 Great write-up. I do like quite a few of the pieces in the Ball line. They make the classic conductor/trainmaster pocket watch you see in a lot of train museums. Classic!!
reachroland Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 yeah man thanks for the write up. i remember first coming across a ball watch ad, and wasn't too sure about getting one. after some research, and reading your post. wow. i'm sure to get one sometime.
Cats Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 Great review. To be honest i've never heard of Ball. Capre Diem Cats
smc Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 I may just give up reps for one of those.....
TeeJay Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 Wow. That's a really nice line up of watches, ranging from elegant to rugged, yet all obviously very sturdy and practical Thanks for taking the time to share it all
Newdoc Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 Damn thanks for the write up. Very cool.
trailboss Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 Is tritium watches a FAD? Yes, if an easily accessible powder-form/liquid/printable equivalent comes along. When you can print lume which doesn
panera Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 (edited) If you want You can buy a Ball rep from King: I checked it And I am sure no Tiritium tubes also lack of quality. Cause No any info about it and No Lume pict http://www.kingshowbox.com/category.php?id=112 Edited December 3, 2008 by panera
chiefwiggum Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 Love the look of these watches especially the Aviator and Officers watches which are about 46mm. I had difficulty finding prices, but found this site that may be be of assistance to anyone wondering about cost. http://www.abouttime.com/abouttime/ball-watches.invtc.html
smc Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 Are we 100% sure no tritium? I'd buy 2 or 3 if it was H3.
RobbieG Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 Not my thing but I'm sure it will be for someone. I'm more for sort of traditional design and materials and the multi color lume isn't for me. I have to say the designs don't really knock me out either, but hey, that is why we have all these brands - so there is something for everyone!
