Welcome back Pug.

That is a very unusual watch.

I didn't know you were fond of oldies.

Do you mind sharing some more information about this watch with us ?

Cheers

It's a Tudor Oyster.

It's got a screw-in crown with a single bar under the Rolex logo. It's hand-wound, not automatic, and has an acrylic crystal. I believe it dates to the 1950s, but I'm nowhere near expert enough to date it. More detailed pics soon.

:o That IS beautiful! Fantastic watch, congratulations. Reminds me of my IWC Old timer, gotta remove the dust from that one.

Thanks for showing.

I was expecting an IWC but that Tudor is a very classy watch.

OK show of hands, be honest, how many ran to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary to see if 'embiggen' was a word? C'mon, you know you did.

It's a perfectly cromulent word.

Thats a big departure from what you usually like Pug. Beautiful watch, but my big question is why?

I saw it for sale and realised it was a superb piece of design. Not overly flashy, no stupid old-style numbers, great dial ... all round classy watch.

... and on top of that, it's not impacted my "New Watch" fund.

Pug,

Beautiful watch and a sweet shot! The vintage Tudors are quite classy and that one does not disappoint! Can't wait to see what the new watch fund ends up funding! :::tabs back to Twitter :) :::

Hey Pugs,

Now let us see more pics! :)

Nice looking watch, good find.

Now he said cromulent

Ken ;)

I feel like we could end up in the Blackadder episode soon where the dictionary was being written...

Actually when he dropped the embiggen I let it go with just a chuckle but when he threw cromulent in there I thought it was time for a little investigation.

It seems both words were coined by the writers of the Simpson's (you know with Bart and Homer) when they were asked to come up with two words that sounded like real words.

Now it's my turn to collect the $5 :D

Back on topic......c'mon Pugs where's those pic's? :)
