  4. I suppose I'm succumbing to the Bronze Age !! Decided last week that I needed one! I looked at a lot of options, including the PAM 382, but couldn't find one M2M on any forum, plus I was a little worried about some of the issues folks had with new ones arriving with problems that required immediate attention, like screws loose in the movement. I also was looking for something that I could wear every day as a work watch, and still take to the beach, snorkeling and the occasional dive. Not taking away from the 382, but I'm just not sure it's water resistant enough to spend 60 minutes at 60 feet depth. I'm sure that a lot of folks who own one will either mod one themselves or send it off to get everything sorted out for water resistance. Another problem with all repaired watches, the folks that do the water resistance testing rarely are able to test for depths greater than 5-10 atmos. I wanted something that was good right out the box, AND had a warranty so that should anything happen, I could send it back for repair. SO, after spending several hours on most of the genuine dive watch forums as well as the sales corners and EBay, I decided on the Heroic 18. Heroic 18has been a strap maker for several years, and from there, decided to become what has been described as a "micro-maker" They introduced their Bronze model in 4 dial configurations, green with numbers, green with round plots, black with numbers and black with round plots. The watch is 47mm which is pretty big, domed sapphire crystal, Myiota movement and drilled lugs. Another thing I really like, the bezel looks very similar to the Panerai Submersibles bezel, with raised markers at each quadrant. All this for less than 800 USD. Here are a few photos. Not mine, mine will be in by Thursday, I hope!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  7. That bronzo is growing on me by the day. The first time saw one, I thought "why would someone make a watch out of a spent shell casing"? Now I can't stop looking at them! The bronzo is a bit like a bulldog in that way. The first time you see a bull-dog you think, "well that's a curious genetic dead-end". But after a couple of weeks, you find yourself buying them steak at the grocery store and letting them ride shotgun in your otherwise immaculate car. It's curious charisma, but irresistible nevertheless. Fantastic watch. I wouldn't be able to take it off either!

  8. Looks in that pic that "COMEX" has different texture/colour than the surrounding dial. Anyhow.. Never had the privilege of seeing a gen Comex dial in the flesh. One day i will have the spare $100k to confirm! but I have yet to see non-raised Comex letters on a Rolex dial.

  10. The crackeled sft-bomberjacket Martinj referred is well worth it´s price and more - took 7 weeks to get to me in EU (!), using it since arrival and goes well with the watch*s character

  13. There is no rep. There was an attempt by Parnis, but it is 21mm, not distressed yet, and you need to file off Parnis http://www.ebay.com/itm/221383142315. This seems to be the goto at the moment- http://www.strappedfortime.com/shop/item.aspx/bomber-jacket-leather-watch-band-strap/248/

  18. Another "well within reach" dream car - the Mercedes Benz E55 AMG W211. I almost pulled the trigger on a 2005 a year and a half ago, but with the soaring gas prices I shied away from the deal. It's still on my radar though Super comfortable ride, sporty handling, dynamic seating that adjusts as you increase the g-forces on the car, and a 470hp / 520 ft/lb supercharged engine. Oh, and room for 5!
