  1. Did not really notice gents was busy drooling over the watches and was not concerned with Rolexfinder but the rule is the rule so I have PMed him in regard. We were talking anyway and Rolexfinder hae generously donated one of these stellar watches for our next raffle so be on the look out!

  4. Hello, Im a longtime lurker and i have owned/own a few gens, reps, high end frankens and genkens. Funny thing is that my hobby started with reps and it lead me to the gen watches. But nothing beats a good franken in my oppinion. Everyone can save some cash and go buy a gen. But it takes passion and knowledge to pull off a well made franken watch and that is worth more than a simple gen. My interest to this hobby and watches in general has grown to that point that im actually considering quitting my job and start to educate myself through a 3 year long watchmakerschool. Its still just a thought but i have been in contact with the school so lets see where that leads. Anyway i think its time for me to start being more active and contribute to the forum. Cheers

  10. Very sorry and sad to hear this, it´s terrible it had to happen and Your Mother is so alone with You far away. The other thing is to be realistic, it seems You & Family are in poor financial condition after Your Father left. Imho there are 2 ways of action: a.) the kind dog is just 9 months old, it is already suffering a lot of pain and partially chained up, spare it a life of later, recurring problems even after the operation is done (there are no 100% treatments and dozens of different cirurgeries are used) and kindly put it to sleep with an injection; meanwhile save another puppy from the local Canil or through the Vet from a hard life and uncertain future; Save up and repair the Rolex Your Father left You as the only thing and keep it for a future hardship, You never know how life plays in the future; b.) invest more time in talking to Vet´s and charitable organizations through the Internet, consider going to another country (Poland? Ucraine?) for doing the operation at a much lower cost than in Italy; Maybe locally in the Canaries as travelling is a problem. Consider alternative treatments starting with weight reduction (scroll down to about 1/2 onwards: http://www.2ndchance.info/hipdysplasiadog.htm It´s not Your fault. From the writings I´d suppose You are in the early 20´s and there is much ahead. You are in no way culprit to the dog´s hip dysplasia nor to not having the savings for a potential improvement. You have to get over this. What You can do is to build up for the future and by the way You are easily giving up Your Fathers legacy at the first problem it seems You are not yet doing so. Think that Yourself and You Mother are not getting younger with each day that passes. Have faith, believe in Yourself "Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny" C.S.Lewis Wishing the best outcome.

  12. The Ofrei pearls are very good. At one time in the past, it was stated here that they were from the same source that makes the pearls for Rolex. Probably the most common mods to these are Gen Insert/pearl Gen crown Rework the crown guards Drill out the lugholes to accept gen or aftermarket springbars Nice thing is these watches have the correct movement I believe. If not the best bet would be an ETA 2846 slow beat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. No the lugs shouldn't be polished. Basically it's terrible for the price. Even my rep is better.

  16. I bought the same watch and exactly the same thing happened to mine, same pusher too. I wouldn't call it an easy fix, but here goes... Take the bracelet off. Remove the case back. Pull the crown into hand setting position. Press stem release button and remove stem. (search google for "remove ETA 7750 stem" Undo the 2 case clamp screws and remove the screws and the small tabs. Place a small piece of foam or similar over the back and turn it over. The movement with dial attached should come out. Do not touch the dial and only handle the movement at the edges. NOTE! Somewhere inside the case or rattling about in the movement should be a 'tiny' circlip about 1mm in diameter. There is a chance it is still attached to the pusher, so check. When the pusher is inserted into the pusher tube, the circlip slides into a tiny groove on the pusher shaft and should prevent the pusher from falling out. My circlip was to small and it passed through the pusher tube. I put the circlip on to the point of a needle and GENTLY pushed it down the needle to enlarge it slightly. Now you have to insert the pusher and fit the circlip on to the pusher shaft (good luck here!) If you get this far then it's just a reversal of the disassembly, ensuring you thoroughly clean any dirt, smudges or dust inside the case. And make sure the the case back gasket is properly seated in its groove before screwing the back on again.
