  2. Although he is an idiot you never know. Ronald Reagan was best known for making a movie with a chimp. Bill Clinton stuffed a cigar in someone's twat in the white house and for my money they were two of the most effective presidents in my life - ideologies aside and for very different reasons. And no I don't want to debate their merits. Just saying....

  3. Ever ask yourself who in their right mind would be a politician - you are underpayed, anally raped daily in the press and have no privacy. Hell, you can't even get away with a mistress anymore. Ergo I can only conclude that politics at a top level only attracts self-absorbed egomaniacs. In any case I will stick to my guns. You heard it here first. The U.S. economy will be substantially better when Obama leaves office than it is today. But it won't be because of Obama (or Romney if he were the one elected). By the way Obama never had a chance during his term. An intelligent person who looked at the trends, state of the economy and the fact that we were still getting out of two wars worth of expense would have concluded it would take two years at best for things to get better. Not making excuses for Obama as I am not a fan but if you study the great depression and the major recessions both here and abroad it all becomes fairly evident what the outcome is. For the U.S. economy to only hiccup with the meltdown in the EU should give folks some comfort as to its resilience. No one can kill it.

  4. I really don't have a dog in this fight, because I rarely ever buy a watch new from a dealer. I would much rather buy one from a member on the sales forum, for several reasons, one generally the price is less than new, two the member has already sorted out the problems, or if there are known problems they are disclosed, and last if I purchase watches here in the USA, there are no customs problems, and shipping is generally pretty reasonable. Having said all this, I believe that some of the problems especially with new members is their expectations are way too high. you are buying a rep of a 5-50 K watch for 150- 400 USD, it's unrealistic to expect the quality of a genuine Rolex Submariner in a 125 dollar copy. Second, they watch factories have absolutely, and I mean absolutely no quality control. The watches are being assembled in dirty warehouse like settings by folks that don't have any training in watchmaking at all. they may have been assembling IPads or waffle irons the week before! movements are bought in bulk, and sit around until cased. they aren't cleaned oiled or regulated. Vintage watches with old movements are worse, they shuck out movements from old watches like your local seafood guy shucks oysters (with about the same regard for cleanliness) These dirty, dry and often broken movements are cased and the finished watch is shipped to a dealer, not an AD, just a dealer, like our TD's here. The dealer has pretty much zero input with the factory, regarding exchanges, repairs, parts, etc. So the dealer gets the watches, he may do a visual inspection to make sure all the pieces are there, some may even go so far as to take the back off and try to regulate the watch, Take photos for you the buyer, wrap it up in a bubble wrap package and send it off. It's not in a nice sturdy box, inside a bigger box filled with packing peanuts like a genuine watch is shipped, it's got the minimum protection that will allow it to be mailed. You receive the watch and right off, it's not quite like the genuine 16610 that your friend owns, plus the end links don't fit very nicely and it's running +5 minutes per day!! You email the dealer, but he's moved on to the next customer, he sends you an email back in a few days telling you the watch was fine when it left his place. Probably he offers to give you a discount on your next order, or maybe he tells you to send the watch back (on your dime of course) for repair. Now you're really mad. you got a watch that didn't meet your elevated unrealistic expectations plus it's not running right. you shoot off a couple of more emails, getting madder by the second. By this time the dealer is not going to return your emails, as he feels like he has made you a reasonable offer which you ignored. Now the ball is in your court, you can suck it up, chalk it up to experience and move on, try to find a watchmaker that will get your watch regulated and at the very least get it running right, you can rant and rave here on the forum ad nauseum which won't do any good but it may make you feel better, or you can do like a lot of noobs seem to be doing lately, contact PayPal and tell them your tale of woe and open a dispute. Bad choice!! Actually both the last two are both bad choices. there is very little the forum mods and members can do to help you with a dealer dispute, unless it's got the appearance of a scam. Opening a paypal dispute will put you in a position where you put the dealer in jeopardy, inconvenience lots and lots of future buyers, including yourself (If you ever decide to buy another rep) and if paypal finds out that the item in question was counterfeit, you not only will not get your money back, but Paypal will probably flag your account for scrutiny on every purchase going forward. So noobs, read the reviews, read the forum information and after you read about rep watches and feel like you have a good handle on what they are all about, Then decide if they are for you.

  9. There are no such things as politicians...just crappy sales people who will say anything and sell you something that is very unachievable just to get your vote in order to get elected. Each party blames each other...i swear - for the amount of time bashing each other on Fox or MSNBC and use that time to work together - AS A GOVERNMENT SHOULD - we'd be alot better off. But every party has their own agenda which apparently does not include making things right for us Americans. Is there an easy fix to fix the economy - yes and no. Can our government do it - yes. Will they? Probably not as everyone is gearing up for 2016 already. Its funny when i see these congressional hearings when members of congress are drilling and blasting athletes, banking CEOs, Automakers CEOs, etc. I really wish they would turn and tell Congress to go F themselves as its funny when they thumb their nose at others, but here our elected officials who can never solve for balance budgets, Social Security, Health Care, etc. etc. etc. Oh well...lets hope that there is hope with 2012 and the next four years.

  10. One last point and then I'm out of here. Republicans may not have had the numbers to win the presidency but they do have the numbers to affect their economy...negatively...unless they support the President. To turn your economy around will take a united effort. Ken

  14. Do some research before you buy!! Read thius first http://www.rwg.cc/to...n-the-internet/ then go to the Auction and scam forum http://www.rwg.cc/fo...ion-scam-sites/ Read reviews, and chose your dealer based on reviews and what you're looking for. If you do your homework, you won't get scammed. If you use off site non trusted dealers or some of those sites that come up when you google "replica watch' ,you are likely to get scammed. We have quite a few trusted dealers here. they are called trusted dealers for a reason, you can depend on them to deliver what you bought and payed for. That Dreamhead.net site is a total scam site. All those rep sales sites they "review are all part of the network of scam sites that have been going on for years. they are so filled with lies and inaccuracies that it's almost laughable, but only if you know what to look for. One review "If you are on the prowl for the latest models of authentic, Swiss-made Rolex replicas that can be bought at cheaper prices, you must check out Idealwatches.com. This high-end replica site prides itself in offering the best and individually… read more What a crock of B.S! First off there are and never have been replicas made in Switzerland. The Swiss have the strictest and harshest anti counterfeiting laws in the world. they put folks in jail for owning a rep! You cannot bring a rep watch into the country without fear of confiscation and a hefty fine.

  17. No, second part was not aimed at you, or even really anyone in particular, I was just pointing out that WU may well become the only option available if dealers keep getting PP disputes launched against them. Equally, I used WU to make my first rep purchase (which was from a site which many would consider a 'scam site') and I had no issue... At the end of the day, I think people need to do their research when it comes to dealer selection. While for the most part, the 'trusted dealers' are reasonably reliable, on a personal level, I find them untrustworthy and refuse to do business with them. In the last few months, there were bizarre and contradictory rumors about Factory Raids. Contradictory, in so much as people did not seem to be experiencing any delays, even though dealers were saying that there were delays... I've never been desperate to pass a rep off as a gen, so I've always been happy with low-end stuff, and used a site called CQout, which uses a very strict feedback system, where three negative feedbacks will get a seller permabanned... I have seen this system in effect, and have total faith in it. I've seen 'trusted dealers' lie to customers, manipulate the truth, and behave in a generally untrustworthy manner, so I have no faith in them... I think if someone comes to the forum asking about a particular site, then I don't think it hurts to give feedback on how the site appears, or if it may be worth a test purchase (unless it is obviously a scam site, or a cloned site, as you mentioned) but to simply say "stick to the TDs" isn't as good advice as it may seem

  20. Vac is truely unbelievable. Though you say it took longer than expected. I've found that Vac is at the mercy of shipment of supplies etc. His customer service is unbeatable within the limitations the rep market imposes. I've had to learn this lesson as a relative newbie, and as you said, his work is well worth the wait. Kudos!
