  1. its because you bought a 16800 insert, you want the pointy 4 in 40 (16800 16610)insert with that pearl. i have a gen insert im not using with the SL pearl.
  2. +1 for Clarks, his sub hands are no good though, except the seconds hand is more accurate than any one elses, and it can be trimmed to be spot on.
  3. i think youll enjoy it regardless, its very cinematic.
  4. this is almost hard to believe. i cant imagine the liability if they explicitly tell you to destroy something and you hurt your self in the process, on the other hand... they do have deep deep pockets
  5. with regards to subs and dwellers these are my personal experiences yukis crown tubes are good, WSO outlet ones tear right in half when you install them! WHAT A JOKE!. hands are decent, seconds hand is not (use a clarks second hand, trim the tip a bit, spot on!). bracelets seem to be over priced for what they are and usually you can get a bracelet from a trusted dealer for a lot cheaper and better quality too. dials are getting better, the new ones look pretty good (slimmer font, no marshmallow markers), ingod may be a better choice for dials still. cases are expensive and not consistent between batches but they do fit gen movements and parts, some people have said gen tropics do not fit, im unsure if this an inconsistent batch thing ive mentioned. yuki is a stand up entity and will even refund based on dissatisfaction. my advice; know what you want from them first and make sure its one of the good parts yuki sells so, what were you looking for?
  6. very nice. looks like a TW, for $30 stock up.
  7. that would be a great mod for the moon watch rep as well whos gonna try it first?
  8. much is not right. the dial crown is incorrect, the marker plots are too thin, the date window aspect is off, and the crown guards are too stunted.
  9. came out beautiful! paint those hands
  10. this is actually pretty awesome. too bad you have to buy a whole watch just to get that SA3135 tho. how are the time keeping accuracies on this movement?
  11. the original one from MBK, not josh's
  12. if its your first time doing CGs you will mess it up. theres a whole art and science to polishing as well, 1500 grit alone and some cape cods wont do it for modding jobs. depends how deep any scratches are, pitting, quality of the metal etc. i start at 320 grit then 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, 4000, 6000, then green polishing compounds and a felt pad, depending on how its looking i may using a diamond paste as well, also the brand and intended application of the paper also makes a difference. if you just want to brighten up the already factory polished case then a cape cod will do fine. i say either practice on a disposable case or outsource it if you really want great results.
  13. i called it the second i saw this movement for the first time on PTs site. besides the novelty of having a replica rolex movement forget it.
  14. was just thinking EXACTLY that. the pointys really work perfectly for this cases CGs
  15. hi guys, alligoat pretty much nailed it. MBK case gen crown/tube gen dial gen insert combo yuki hour hand minute hand, clarks second hand -trimmed the tip, exactly like gen now. the yuki minute hand is also perfect. the hour hand however none of them seem to have the correct mercedes size the gen is much larger. clarks T19 beating in the case is a 2783 unfortunately this is not my watch to keep
  16. a few things seem problematic compared with the gen. the caseback side of the crown guards are not squared, which is very characteristic of genuine 5513s there appears to be no bevel on the lugs and genuine dials are 26mm, but youre saying it accommodates a 25mm
  17. M5 case, could be wm9 even. wheres the date wheel from?
  18. agreed maybe try the TW. or maybe jmb could manufacture one for you.
